What I will say about Moyes is that he is clearly quite good when he isn't in charge of signings. He's so unimaginative in the transfer market and always has been just a constant over reliance on players he knows, whereas at West Ham they have Tim Steidten running the recruitment and it's clearly working with players like Kudus coming in
Loads of WHU fans still don’t want Moyes even now after he’s delivered that new wannabe European trophy. They’ve constantly spent big money whilst he’s been there and the £100m+ sale of Rice makes it a lot less on paper obviously but they’ve got £30m+ players in every position plus on the bench to play counter attacking football and play for set pieces. He’s basically parking an expensive bus and then counter attacking with £50m attackers.
Reading between the lines from things I've heard, I think Moyes knew, and other people within the game knew, that the club was in a much worse state than the general public/the fans were aware of at that time.
That was said after Middlesbrough at home. Second game of the season. It was a ridiculous comment to make so early on in the season.
No idea. I'd imagine at least some of the former Everton players were brought in because he needed bodies, cheap and previously reliable.
I don't even think we were that bad that day either if memory serves me right, but even if we were bad surely you don't say that
Who is supporting him? People are quite rightly pointing out that the club was a shambles at the time but I don't see anyone defending Moyes' time here
Yeah I've read them all, can't see anyone supporting Moyes' time here. I see people saying he's done well elsewhere, which is correct, and then people offering up reasons it didn't work well here but I don't see anyone excusing his abysmal performance and attitude here
I know it wasnt mate Folk arent sticking up for him at all, all have slagged him from his time with us As @Sour Patch said folk are just pointing out what a mess the club were at that time - hence the double relegation. Anyway, heres hoping clarke stays n we bring in some quality to complement what weve got Ive been asking about with some of my contacts on any news theyve heard about us n they said been very little so far - pretty normal for us these days as we keep cards close to our chest
Interested to see what happens with Hayden Hackney this month. Pure speculation of course but I can’t see us getting as much for Neil as Boro will get for him, think it’ll set a benchmark though.
A lot said Clarke would leave last summer and he never, it's just silly season with the transfer window. We don't even know if west ham are even in for him other than pure speculation
