The Gypsey Davey - Taunton 1.55. Won a point for my cousin prior to Christmas before being shipped over to Evan Williams ( a normal transaction between breeder Billy Bates and himself). Was out much of the day and I can see it has already halved in price more or less. May be worth a small punt if yous are looking for one on a cold Monday afternoon.

    All the best.

Giving racing a miss isn't easy. But be warned I can't pick my own nose at present

Taunton 15.00 (course inspection 8am) Zoffee has been running respectably in much higher grade flat races and returns to hurdling (nearly 4 years since his Last run over hurdles when pulled up in the Juvenile Handicap hurdle at the Chelt Festival. Prior to that he had a win and 2 seconds from 3 runs. First run for new stable Olly Murphy. Looks a bargain at 4/1

Did not intend selectiing anything in France today, but I noticed many of the events at Pau are on the Fibresand track. Therefore, in the finalè (14:57), a race just short of 1m2f, the ultra-consistent filly Loving Star really does deserve to win a race.

5/1 (Bet365) best price at time of writing.

In the last at Taunton (16:05), a Class-5 Mares' Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m on soft ground, am hopeful the Dylan Thomas mare, Sawpit Sienna, will repeat her win in this race a year ago. Wears usual tongue-strap and cheek-pieces. Ned Fox (3) on board for the Sam Drinkwater stable.

7/2 best price, in nearly all places, at time of writing.

Thanks all. Did it very nicely on the front end and always nice when it works out. The form will likely prove modest going forward but he will give them a few options now at least and could win again over further. It was a strange market to watch over the past 16 to 20 hours or so, Gypsey Davey was initially backed from 6/1 into as short as 7/2 and then today drifted out to as big as 10/1 at one point.

Glad some of you were on and thanks for the kind words.

    All the best.
