Why would Nottingham Forest want a player who can't cement a place in a Championship midfield? They need someone who will make a difference now. I would suggest they would look at the last team which signed Charly in the January window... what happened to them? He has a lot of potential - but he could also still bomb.
If Liverpool are asking for guarantees over game time, can see Hull being able to offer more starts then us. We struggle to get Wee Man starting when Sulemana is out injured.
Carvalho can play the Stuart Armstrong role as well. I don't think we'd struggle to give him game time.
Well I'd imagine Hull would have said that he is starting every game in his preferred 10 role, whereas we have probably said, He isn't guaranteed to start every game.
And we don’t even play with a 10. And I’m not sure right wing is his best position and that seems to be what we are recruiting for
David Ornstein, for The Athletic: Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho is expected to join Hull City on loan until the summer. The 21-year-old has generated interest from a host of clubs since returning from a spell at RB Leipzig, with Hull’s Championship rivals Southampton also keen to secure his services. Southampton have not given up hope of signing Carvalho, but Hull are now strong favourites to recruit the Portugal Under-21 international. Carvalho held positive talks with Hull head coach Liam Rosenior and Liverpool team-mate Tyler Morton, who is there on a season-long deal. The proposals from both Hull and Southampton suit Liverpool so it will be Carvalho’s decision and, barring a late twist, it is anticipated his move to the MMK Stadium will be finalised this week.
I assumed it was Liverpool that preferred Hull over Saints, not the player. From a pure footballing point of view you'd think it was a no brainer to choose Saints, but maybe he is thinking about staying further North if he is settled and having a teammate he knows well. It's a shame to lose out but I'm glad it is to Hull rather than Ipswich or Leeds.
Yeah, primarily we are looking for a left footed RW. Saying that though he is left footed and could quite easily play on our RW and the number 8 role.
No for me. He did a great job for us then wanted out, dragged on his contract discussion to a dead end and just would not fit the current set up. Injuries are frequent and he's happy to take the most money he can even if he rarely plays.
Agree with all of this which is why I would only take him on loan. If he is half the player he was last time he will be brilliant in this league. Look at Arma in the prem vs championship - we lack a finisher and Ings would be ideal.
