??? I read the board a fair bit but post very sporadically. I live in a small town in the south of Switzerland so it does feel as remote as the Amazon at times,
Yeah its pretty clear we have no plan if Roberts or Clarke get injured. That needs to be addressed in this window. None of the Head Coaches we have had this season seem to rate Bennette so I'd say we need cover on both sides as well as the other positions you mentioned
Can't see us bringing in another left back when we have so many at the club. Granted Huggins is out for the season but with Alese and Hume available and Cirkin back soon you'd think we are well enough stocked at full back for now.
I don't think Cirkin is back soon after what Beale said midweek. We were linked to a Ukrainian left back on a free so I think we are looking at it
I can see us slowly being less reliant on Clarke & Roberts, probs moving to more of a central attacking at times.
It's all well and good signing Moore because he has 'championship experience' but just like the rest of our forwards we have to play to his strengths otherwise he will be another forward who we bring in and expect to score goals but won't.
It’s remarkable to me that more people still don’t see this. I don’t doubt that the forward players we brought in have their flaws and limitations but to lay all the blame for their performances and lack of output to date entirely at their door seems incredibly simplistic to me.
People just don't learn. We brought Wyke in but didn't play to his strengths so didn't score, we then crossed the ball a lot under Johnson and he scored 30. Wyke didn't improve as a player or change his play style, the coach changed the teams style.
I think Moore would be a good signing, has experience that the younger kids players could learn from and would allow us to play a different system…but as previously said only if we start crossing the ball into the box and play to his strengths. I would love to see Rusyn playing off someone like Moore as I think that could be a game changer.
Correct me if I'm wrong but his team out there isn't owned by pif/scum is it, if so does that rule out a loan to the gravy stained twots. For what it's worth I called him for his move out there but would have him back here in a heartbeat alongside mvila
Although I agree with your broader point I do disagree slightly on Wyke, I think he was coached, his movement was tweaked and he was encouraged to take less touches - I actually don't think Lee Johnson gets enough credit for his coaching and improving of Wyke and Ross Stewart in that regard. I agree the way the team was set up around him changed too though. I've said it before but I do think under the right/a good head coach we'll see much more from the strikers already at the club, they all have aspects of their game that can be utilised and enhanced with the right approach and in the right set up. We've already seen it with Rusyn (we did see that before but then obviously abandoned it for a period).
