Plumpton 215 took 11/2 on Ramo with wh which was good as they are showing 5s on atr , Ramo should go well on return to c/d and conditions should help
No more useless selections from me but what a cracking and intriguing race at Naas Sunday 14.00 Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings: 146p Firefox 145p Ile Atlantique 145 Croke Park 143p Lecky Watson 142p An Tobar 140P Mystical Power 130P Chapeau de Soleil 130p Readin Tommy Wrong Highlighted as sired by Galileo out of Annie Power
Plumpton 250 Gold clermont arrives in good nick for this 28.5f slog and it would not suprise me if they step up to cl3 with a bang 11/2 looks fair enough.
It looks a high class renewal of what has become a very important and informative race over the last few years - Bob Olinger and Envoi Allen among recent good winners. Unsurprisingly, Elliott and Mullins dominate the previous winners list and they have 7 of the 8 entries today - only Henry De Bromhead's An Tobar (representing the Royal Bond form of Farren Glory) attempts to break their dominance. Of the Mullins horses, Paul Townend has chose Ile Atlantique (although I assume he couldn't ride Mystical Power with Mark Walsh being his owner's retained jockey) but both Lecky Watson and Chapeau Du Soleil represent the Cheltenham Champion Bumper form which is working out so well. Of the Elliott runners, Firefox was impressive in seeing off Ballyburn (subsequent easy winner) at Fairyhouse and looks to be the trainer's best chance in this. Firefox and Ile Atlantique did meet in a Fairyhouse bumper back in April - Firefox winning by 3/4L from Ile Atlantique with the rest nowhere and there shouldn't be too much between them again. They are, however, at pretty cramped odds at the head of the market and, given his breeding, it is entirely possible that Mystical Power will be a very tough nut to crack here and I think he is value at around the 7/1 mark.
I will go for Ile Atlantique in this very hot Grade-1 Class-1 Novice Hurdle at Naas. (Meeting abandoned after first race due to fog)
Rock Danse never really travelled today - out of his comfort zone very early in the race. He did plug on but for me that can't have been his true running - he was struggling far too early. Maybe something will come to light. Main thing is he got round safe and that will now open up the handicap route.
I dont think he handled the tight Plumpton track and the ground, although soft, was on the fast side for him.
