Given how serious ACL injuries are, I think it’s good all necessary precautions are taken for knee injuries, even if it’s just sore and there’s no ligament damage. Like another poster said, a sore knee could be ignored and it ignoring it could lead to serious damage and/or surgery later down the line.
Updated... Jaden Philogene - Out until late January. Ruben Vinagre - Out until late January. Jason Lokilo - Back in squad for Bristol. Allahyar Sayyadmanesh - Back in squad for Bristol. Doğukan Sinik - Out until he leaves (probably)
Some positive news from the injury room involves Jaden Philogene, who trained on the pitch prior to the pre-match press conference, with Rosenior providing an update on the winger. “Jaden was on the pitch today. He’s still a good three weeks away I would say, but it was good to see him running on the pitch. “His rehab is going really, really well and we’ve missed him. Every team misses good players and Jaden was one of the best attacking players, if not the best attacking player in the Championship.”
Seems Cyrus Christie picked up a hamstring injury today by all accounts. Wonder if we look at another full back if its long term
"Cyrus [Christie] is looking at probably five weeks - he's injured his tendon in his hamstring. So obviously it's a big miss for us. "And Liam Delap needs an assessment on his knee. He's had it scanned, something's come back on there. So we need to assess what to do, which is a big blow. We have to take it from there when we get the news on Tuesday. Delap out for any period would be gutting. He's vital if we're going to go up this season.
Hopefully it's nothing serious with Delap,he's such an important player for us and it would be the toughest of blows if we lost him for any period of time...Fingers crossed on this one!!!
This is the price you pay for small squads, as soon as we have a couple of injuries we suddenly start looking very light
When you watch Delap, he often gets clattered, winces a bit and gets on with it. I think he's been carrying this injury a while now...
Wonder if it makes any difference in how you treat an injury when it’s a loan player. Do you squeeze as much out of them as you can knowing you only have them in the short-term or protect them and prevent risking poor relationships with the parent club. Would imagine it varies from club to club and has an impact on where players are sent by their parent team.
Have we had the results of Delaps scan? Or is everyone just assuming he might be out for a while? Have I missed something?
