The vast majority of reactions on Twitter, during the game, and from fans of other clubs, was that it wasn't a red. On this board, I looked back at the thread when the sending off happened, and counted 25 comments straight after that expressed an opinion. 24 said it wasn't a red card, the other 1 said it was after seeing a replay but didn't think it was when seen live. So I'd say he's not the one making **** up.

Cardiff was our most complete performance of the season in fairness yeah.

I just think when it comes to scoring goals we rely too much on individual brilliance rather than good team play. We sometimes play the ball back to front and it ends with a goal, but from memory a lot of those goals aren’t particularly easy chances they’re just very good finishes, which is fine, but it’s not sustainable which is why I think we are comfortably in the play offs because we don’t have that edge to break teams down yet.

I was at the match, in real time I thought he had leapt in and it was a red, though others around me were less convinced. Within a minute I was sent a video clip that made it obvious it wasn’t a red card offence.

It makes the case for VAR in those cases because the ref would’ve probably overturned it. Well you’d hope so given the outcome. But I just wouldn’t want VAR micro reffing every aspect of the games

The comical part of that is someone in the crowd can receive the video evidence & get the correct decision quicker than VAR.

For the nitpickers … That’s a general statement. I realise VAR wasn’t being used in this instance

the choice is between referees and referee's assistants getting it wrong several times a match or getting it right
I'd rather get correct calls even if it means a delay in restarting

Part of the modern game unfortunately years ago we used to complain about cheating, diving foreign teams.

Realistically that isn't the choice at all.

There isn't an option where refs get all decisions right. VAR was supposed to be that but we've now seen over several years that it can't actually achieve that.

I didnt suggest an option of refs getting all decisions right.
If you meant VAR I accept there's been very few instances where VAR cant judge or there has been errors but very few

Sensible, easily applied rules that everyone understands or stupid complicated ones that even experts don't agree on?

So you are Alfie Jones! #outed.
Just watched the replay again. Gassama the cheating cnut rolling around like he'd broke his leg plus Windass in the refs face got him sent off.

That's nothing to do with VAR
can you give an example of a sensible easily applied rule which is not in place now?

    but not wrong calls
there's always going to be matters of judgement whether VAR or no VAR but VAR reduces wrong calls
dont you think that video replays were instumental to getting Morton's red card overturned?
if there was VAR he wouldnt have been sent off
