I don't think it is as simple as blaming a rouge contractor. Even the most rabid mag fan wouldn't jeopardise future work to do this. And if it was a dodgy contractor, who was supervising the works? Or do we just let contractors crack on without checks?
True. An individual had to make that decision at some point, though. It's amazing that someone thought 'our biggest rivals want to cover up our decor. I'll just let them crack on unsupervised, it'll be fine' This is not the type of person we need working for us, and it's not the first time we've had evidence of a really poor culture at the club off the pitch either.
True you will get arseholes with money but its a lot of money for one match and the ones paying it wouldn't risk the repercussions of bans by doing damage.
Let them damage it! Then show the pictures to the world and shame them then send them the effin bill!!
Exactly if anything I would've put more memorabilia up, especially our goals from derbies, so they knew exactly where they were.
I think it's been established that this is the firm we always use for work within the stadium. To that end, you can understand if these trusted contractors were left to their own devices
Memorabilia that can be destroyed i understand but not painting over and covering quotes on the wall and stuff behind the bar that is away from anyones reach.
I think he’s done it for the craic with working for both clubs my m8 knows him through a 3rd party and it’s the type of thing he’d think was funny so hopefully he pays the price through his pocket now
I’m genuinely concerned about our fans’ mindset going into the game tomorrow. A lot are setting out with the intention of making it a poisonous atmosphere for their own club with no focus on the Mags. If that’s the majority view then I can only see more embarrassment, humiliation and damage to the club. To use a Beale-ism I’d far rather we showed the best version of ourselves - if we’re so worried about how everyone perceived us then let’s make it an amazing atmosphere and show what class supporters we can be.
IF true then you'd suggest this was his 'Ratner' moment. Already been 1 company who have had to release a statement confirming it wasn't them
From the noise coming out about this, the club expected the removal of SAFC stuff and the erection (fnar) of some neutral banners/posters. They didn't authorise the B&W ****e. People shouldn't lose sight of that
I'm getting a bit tired of all these instances of mag supporters working for us. Are there no SAFC supporters willing to do the gigs?
Absolutely , all this negative energy towards back room people needs to go into positive energy of support for 11 employees on the pitch
