Right this is so bad if it's KLD agreeing to this. When I first heard about it I wondered if KLD would have the balls to fire the person who made this decision. I guess that ship has sailed...

Its inexplicably bad and unnecessary. If we got X thousand in a contract with the mags as part of the ticket deal it's horrible business as you say and shows a massive misunderstanding of feelings in the fan base. If all the money is split 50/50 anyway then this is even more stupid.

I don't think KLD has been around long enough to properly get us. He made a comment at fan meeting a year or so back that he 'didn't realize' the extent of Stewart Donald's unpopularity. I wondered at time how he had failed to pick that up, and now he feels that it somehow ok redecorate the Stadium of Light and put out out the welcome mat to our rivals and anger and perplex the fan base when we should all be focused on the game.

    You'd hope so.

If people ignored this it would avoid playing into the Mag's hands.

As I said before, if they've hired the venue that's pretty much it imo.

We hired a table in the Wembley Hilton. for the Norwich Cup Final weekend, and decorated it with flags etc. They asked us to remove them, we refused and that was that.

So we can't say no to them putting stuff up (even though we are putting it up for them) but the club can say no to the original display that was organised for this match?

This is not the same as a few fans hiring a table at a random hotel.

This is our ground, our stadium, our space. It's been re decorated and plasters with anti Sunderland and pro rival stuff.

Come on, I know some won't ever be critical towards the club but not being funny here, same people slam methven and Donald. Even they wouldn't have stopped this low to make a few quid.

Sunderland fans, from here, will never ever forgive this. Don't be surprised to see this ramp up.

Good, I hope everyone else is of the same mindset. Just bizarre self sabotage if not.

The only hope I see is that the club has foolishly and unacceptably done what Smug says, and allowed Newcastle to decorate how they want. That's a stupid, foolish and bad decision. But its not as bad as the alternative, which is we've made these changes ourselves to appease them.

The club need to come out and be clear about this.

Any **** who takes this into the stands and is anything but pro Sunderland on Saturday in the park needs to **** off mind.

I absolutely agree it’s wrong and it’s a mess but any dickhead suggesting we carry this into the stadium on ****ing Derby day, impacting OUR team, is 35 times worse, cos they know to their core what this game means.

It's the same. We have say. It's our space. Wether we allowed them to do it, or done it for them, same thing.

Weak, poor leadership. Not understanding the 145 years of tradition of this club. People not from the area, no idea.

One is clearly provocative and on display to the watching public. If it triggers a reaction the club could be held to account for allowing it.

The other can only be seen by people either paying to be there or choosing to look.

Same question to you then - are you going there on Saturday to support the team or to let your feelings about KLD be aired?

This if true might not be fook arl to do with KLD. Could be some PR manager gadgies shìte decision.

Should be making the SoL the most unwelcoming place for the scum imo like.
Whoever green lighted this needs tar and feathering and beating with a wet haddock.

Support 100%. But inside, I will be going to that game internally furious when I should have been completely buzzing.
