That's your opinion and of course, it counts to you, but I'm not sure you focus on what most see as relevant.

Most Juventus fans will be more concerned about their 35+ league titles and numerous other accolades, rather than that Sunderland have more seats in their ground, and most Sunderland fans would give up their higher attendance average this season, to have had the equivalent success. You're comparing a bus with a formula one car.

I am not. The original article referred to Sunderland getting higher crowds than Juventus (though the main point was that the Championship is getting higher crowds than Serie A.) As is often the case the thread has digressed from that.

It’s a little ironic that Fiat are moving all production offshore, considering the full name of Fiat basically translates to Made In Turin.

They still make Alfa Romeo and Maserati’s there though.

They have made cars elsewhere, Brazil, Libya, Africa for a long time now. Tied up with Chrysler as well.

And to think that some see us getting 20k with reduced tickets and feel that spending a couple of mil here and there entitles us to be a promotion side with a top 6 budget.

Not seen anyone on here feeling entitled to be a promotion side. We have dropped points we shouldn't have though, which invariably leads to people questioning certain decisions. Fine margins obviously and I'm not saying we should be winning every game.

I find comments like that ironic while there are posters on here actively making the accusation of there being a mysterious negative narrative on the forum - It seems a bit 'pot kettle' to me when there's an abundance of comments like that; insinuating either that posters feel entitled or relish us losing etc. It's ridiculous. In this instance it had nothing to do with the thread.

There was at least one individual who was convinced we had a top 6 budget the other week and wouldn't be persuaded otherwise.

This thread puts that into perspective.

That was my point.

(but if you want an example of a 'mysterious negative narrative', 6 out of 8 summer signings becoming regulars and firing us to the other end of the table being described as abysmal on the other thread would be a case in point)

Claiming to have a top 6 budget = promotion entitlement now?

As for the signings I think we've had a good summer. I don't think last summer was bad either. I haven't seen who's said what about signings on another thread - I just know this thread right here started off with an interesting point about the league's popularity, which is nothing to do with our fanbase wanting us to lose or believing we're entitled to go up.

In that particular context, yes. Was used to justify raised season expectations.

There are individual championship clubs with budgets bigger than some entire European top flights.

This league is bigger and more competitive than a lot give it credit for.

I've made my point about needlessly bashing the fanbase. Nobody is under any illusions we'll cake walk to the prem. I won't be a part of derailing this thread any further.

You just know the usual suspects will be claiming it's all down to them and how "massive" they are, and sadly they'd probably be right, considering all three were at home on NYD

Turin’s a poor City now maybe they are suffering more than think . Fiat went to Romania and or Poland a taxi driver told me - mind you he didn’t tip me off about any future City signings !!

I was there two years ago, it's probably the most beautiful city that I've ever visited; coffee drinking and people watching (as in the Sophia Loren lookalikes) in the Piazza San Carlo was the best two hours of a ten day trip!
