You might not be expecting perfection, but you are asking for every transfer to work out as originally intended. And there isn't a club on the planet who can achieve that, so why you expect it from Hull City is a puzzle.
I don’t expect every transfer to work, I’ve simply stated we neglected key areas. Left back, holding midfield, wingers. That’s too much imo.
We didn't neglect them, some transfers just didn't work and some just don't come off. It was an awful lot to fix in one window but overall we did a solid job
I have to admit I've no idea how Elder has done at Derby, but I was always a fan of his and would have been very happy with him as LB this season. Not many wingers got past him on a regular basis.
We were clearly expecting Bird as the deep midfielder coming in summer. He got injured which scuppered it. So did doc, who'd most likely have been the one going out to make room.
Exactly, plus we had bids accepted for Drameh & Davis and Rak-Sakyi was done too (as long as Palace got in a replacement). And that's just the ones we know about. They gave it a right shot
We thought they were addressing key areas, but time has shown it's been a **** up (LB, wingers, keepers, midfield balance, resilience,...).
Signing Philogene, Delap, Morton, Twine, Connolly, Lokilo, Vinagre and Allsop has been a **** up? Vinagre's been a sick note, Lokilo's a bit meh, but the others are the reason we're still in touch with the play-offs.
To be fair there were a lot of key areas to cover in the summer window. We were never going to have a complete championship top 6 chasing squad with appropriate depth just a January and a summer away from being 21st.
Can’t speak on Vinagre but I do know they had to go down the list of Goalkeepers for one reason or another. Allsop wasn’t close to being first choice
He's their reserve left back and if he hadn't gone, we'd all be discussing what a mistake it was not letting him go.
255 minutes over 10 league1 appearances. 1 assist. Spent a big chunk of the season out injured but he isn't a regular starter for them in the league.
