    In your opinion if we were to lose one of these players to a long term injury, which one would have the biggest detrimental effect on the team.

    Krul
    Coloccini
    S Taylor
    Cabaye
    Gutierrez
    Tiote
    Ba

    For me it would have to be Coloccini mainly due to lack of experienced cover in that position. Although if Harper wasn't back from Brighton I might of said Krul.

    Sorry for this trivial thread but I was bored.

    Colo orchestrates the defence and is comfortable enough on the ball to play it out of defence rather than just hoof it upfield. Taylor wears his heart on his sleeve and makes some fantastic blocks, but Colo is the defensive daddy.

    Colo. The rest have adequate cover, he doesnt.

    Krul -> Harper
    Taylor -> Williamson
    Tiote/Cabaye -> Guthrie
    Jonas -> Marveaux/Fergie
    Ba -> Best

    Krul - Severe lack of good cover. Elliot would come in for him which would be ****e.

    Harper is no longer on loan, Pardew said on the radio he considers him the number 2 now.

    Was going to say Krul until I read this... Definitely Colo!

    We've got pretty good depth in the midfield, so while Cabeye, Guti and Tiote are important players for us we have somebody who can fill in without losing too much.

    Losing Ba would be a pain, but we do have cover there, and we can always switch to a formation with Ben Arfa playing behind Shola or Best - not perfect but we'll cope against the bottom half of the table with that.

    Krul, we don't have good enough cover without Harper. BUt with Harper we're fine

    Yeah, Taylor or Colo would be bad. But Colo is streaks ahead of Taylor - so I wouldn't want our see our goal difference after a few games without him...

    Well can't really say Tiote as we probably would have lost to Man City with him in the team.

    No brainer, Colo all day long. Been the best player so far this season and marshalls a defence that is serving us well. And we have absolutely no cover for him except Perchino!

    I'd say any of our back 4 particularly Simmo ... I can't think of anyone in our squad who can play RB ...
