The House of Lords is a shame on the country. To have a political body which is not elected just means the system is rigged towards the party with the longest time in office. Very much like the Supreme Court in the US. We need a second house that combines elected officials with the countries top retired judges, doctors and educators. 70% elected and 30% merit - but nothing is for life and non-attenders are replaced and not paid.
Well, I’ve been left off the Honours List again. If Tim Martin of Wetherspoon is worthy of a knighthood, presumably for services to Brexit and bunging the Tories £50k in 2019, then Kevin Sinfield should be made king for raising £15 million for the Motor Neurone Disease charity. The man’s a hero but played the wrong code of rugby or sport - no player from rugby league has been awarded a knighthood. With regards to the House of Lords, make the ****ers pay tax on their £342 per day attendance pay, to help the country. Another way to boost money for the country would be to stop subsidising food and drink in both Houses, which would lead to more VAT being collected on the higher prices.
A very interesting article about the Israel/Palestine War that raises some interesting points. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?st...SZEu771F5yCbY6HziPdKCAM8cl&id=100053735082871
There’s a reason only conspiracy theorists have mentioned the natural resources. That’s because Israel gave up rights to the (very small) Gaza Marine in 2000. In June of this year a project was approved for its redevelopment. The revenue generated would go to the PA (and Hamas, clearly) and most of the energy (LNG) to Egypt, who were to sponsor the project. It’s one of many things that Hamas appears to have scuppered. If you actually read the UNCTAD report cited within the conspiracy theory, which was ridiculed at the time of publishing, it simply says oil exists and then spends the rest of the pages politically ranting at Israel. Very much in line with UNRWA and general U.N. sentiment (let’s not forget they refuse to condemn Hamas). The article continues with the blockade theory. Given that Hamas have built tunnels as deep and wide as the tube network, it would be utterly impossible to achieve that (the machinery, the digging, the removal of the sand) under a genuine blockade. It’s tragic that the most aid rich part of the world has spent that money on terrorist infrastructure and tragic if happened with the help of UNRWA. Israel is certainly worthy of criticism but conspiracy theories and refusal to blame Gaza’s government is akin to burying one’s head in the sand.
Looks like Nikki Hayley has put her foot in it with a stupid answer around the civil war and slavery. hard to see anyone stopping Trump getting the nomination…eugh
According to this video, of £87 billion created to support the NHS during COVID, £70 billion is still not accounted for.
One day, I hope there is a special prison, maybe a leaky barge in some godforsaken harbour somewhere, reserved for all these corrupt ****s who profited while our loved ones died, as well as the equally corrupt politicians who enabled them.
Large portion of the Jeffrey Epstein redacted documents have been released. Finally. What’s the bet we don’t hear anything about this in the mainstream media? When will these disgusting nonces face justice? For those interested the names include billionaires and politicians including: Bill Clinton Prince Andrew Glenn Dubin Jean Luc Brunel Les Wexner Alan Dershowitz Doug Band Thomas Pritzker
Interesting who you left off who is included in the reporting. A certain orange one. Why would you do that ? And in answer to your question - it’s the lead story everywhere. Or at least BBC, Fox, Guardian and Daily Mail. Some with certain differences of focus of course - such as the right wing ones really focusing on Clinton. Could only see a clear link mentioning “read the whole unsealed documents” on the guardian but literally spent one minute investigating your claims of conspiracy (it’s all it took) BBC reporting suggests neither of the former presidents listed are accused of illegality - neither the one you listed or the one you surprisingly (to absolutely no one given your extreme bias) left off your list.
Yep the main headline on the BBC: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-67865190 All named, including the Orange one.
Well, Greg and TOON7 have said everything I wanted to say. The omission of Trump from Os’s post shocked nobody!
I don't think one can really differentiate politically on something like this. Regardless of politics, religion etc they're all highly questionable for being involved in this (to varying degrees, of course and it's possible that some were just ignorant).
I seem to recall (I might be mistaken) that every year there is a huge get together of the very wealthy and influential people of the world. If memory serves me correctly Epstein was a regular attendant at this gathering, so could be connected to most of the wealthy upper echelon of people. I also think that one Keir Starmer is also an attendant at this event. I’m not suggesting any impropriety by anyone but I am sure that one or two will be concerned about being dragged into something unsavoury.
He probably left Trump off because of tranches of photos online showing Trump, JE and Ghislaine in NYC and Mar a Largo partying together (Tump with hilariously dyed eyebrows at one of them), the two men being neighbours in both NYC & FL for decades and of course that bromance "Two Swordsmen" interview in the New York Magazine. Why state the obvious? Clinton is suspected to be unmasked as "Doe36," which sounds the more problematic situation for the former POTUSs named
Starmer attended this for the first time last year as far a I know. Because he hasn’t been considered influential up until this point and he is not wealthy enough to have been a prior attendee. This is long after Epstein
