Say what you like about them being on top when Morton was sent off, but it was nil nil and it was an absolutely appalling decision. Select your top three, in order.
Greaves Sayyadmanesh Doc Coyle and slater in particular today weren't great on the ball. Youngest (7) is crying cos most of his mates at school support weds and we apparently now 'always' lose
Hard to give the team credit today too many very poor individual performances, but Sayyadmanesh. Full of effort and only effective attacking player Greaves. Defended as good as anyone and did not give up So much wrong with our game today So much wrong with the ref today Selections & changes to team were wrong Sadly, Got what we deserved. Real lack of quality and leadership shown on the pitch, need to sort this out, no excuses or we are dropping down the league
Allahyar Jacob I guess third spot goes to Morton for demonstrating on national television how **** the refereeing is in this league. It needs evolving as it's shocking week after week.
I also thought Macca before he was replaced and Jones did alright considering. But how many times has Christie been done by the winger now for us to concede from it
Sayyadmanesh - never thought I’d type that again, and it will probably be the last time. Twine - great pen Greaves for his flashes of attacking play only Sending off not even a foul in my book. And in any case, an abysmal showing with shades of 19/20.
Yes I don’t think it matters they were on top. It denied us a chance to rectify matters. But even with ten men we were atrocious. Before Blackburn it was four defeats in six. Now five in eight. Plummeting.
Very poor tonight - probably as ad as I've seen in a long time. However, support the players/club/team whatever. So my top three. Allahyar Jacobs Twine Special mention for our great away support. Can't finish without a special mention for the referee. We were poor enough to be comprehensively beaten on our own. We really didn't need his help. The ref was probably the worst official I've seen 40 plus years of following City. Abjectly poor and a massive demonstration of the decline in the standard of refereeing over recent years. Simply awful. Onwards and upwards. UTT.
The curse of SKY strikes again. We didn't start well then the sending off changed the game. An absolutley appalling decision. The same ref who sent one of ours off at Sheff Utd last season. Even with our slow start if we had got to half time at 0-0, with eleven players, Im sure we would have been in with a chance of at least a draw. The half time subsitutions puzzled me, then taking Delap off at 2-0 down suggested throwing in the towel, if not taking off our leading goalscorer at half time wasn't bad enough ( unless he was injured) Too soft, awful referee who was conned time and time again, and tactically poor tonight. But despite that. 1. Greaves 2. Delap until he went off 3. Allayhar. .....
The thing is, we've started loads of games poorly this season and gone on to win them with a much improved second half performance. Doesn't say much for how we go into games, but there's no saying that we couldn't have gone out and had a good go tonight for the second 45 should Morton have stayed on the pitch.
