Neil Dewsnip stated at a pre-match press conference this afternoon that they do not expect a new manager to be installed before the start of the January window.

This means that the next four Christmas/New Year games will be under the control of Dewsnip and Nancekivell.

Reading the reams of stuff on pasoti....it does seem that Schumacher went for the Swansea and Bristol City jobs.

That if true makes you wonder if he was wanting out for awhile.....realizing that without wedges of cash he couldn't do anymore than he was accomplishing at the moment.

PAFC and especially Simon Hallett had given Schumacher a chance that many other managers could never even dream about....I think he owed us more than just two years as manager.

The timing of his departure couldn't be worse....with four quick Christmas/New Year games plus the opening of the January window following....and the need to strengthen are defence and striker situations

I had noticed he wasn’t quite so enthusiastic in his post match celebrations recently or indeed this season. Perhaps he felt fist pumps weren’t so appropriate in the bottom half of the table as they were in the top few. Or perhaps…….

Here's hoping for a late Christmas present from Birmingham on Tuesday.....3pts from their home game against STOKE.

If Schumacher had gone for the Swansea and Bristol C jobs....how must the players and what's left of our management think about him in the cold light of day.....might be different than the cordial bye bye words we have all been told.

    1) The first match it's considered a new manager could take charge of is the FA Cup game against Sutton on Jan 6th. There have been over 100 expressions of interest. Interviews will start next week.

    2) Loan player Lewis Warrington has returned to Everton to have a knee injury assessed.

Latest odds according to the Herald:

Gus Poyet 9/4, Dean Holden 9/2, Scott Parker 9/2, Leighton Baines 6/1, John Eustace 13/2, Neil Warnock 7/1, Michael Duff 10/1, Gaute Helstrup 11/1, Paul Cook 11/1, Nathan Jones 12/1.

    My emphasis especially for Sensible.

Some of those names are surely non-starters.

1.....Gus Poyet is having a successful time managing Greece....to pay off his present contract with a national team doesn't sound a good use of our financial assests.

2.....Dean Holden hasn't got much of a CV..

    3.....Scott Parker likewise.

4.....Leighton Baines...I can see the Everton connection......bit of a risk...would be his first big job.....of course same with Schumacher.

5.....John Eustace & Paul Cook.....would they fit into the present style of play.

    6.....Michael Duff....who ?

    7.....Gaute Helstrup....surely not interested.

8.....Nathan Jones...a bit dodgy at times...no thank you.

9.....Neil Warnock...surely not the future.....might be a stop gap manager to see us through the season and stay in this league....lives locally of course.

I hope we've got someone else in mind....Simon Hallett will be looking for a continuation of what is being done at present....I'm not sure if any of these names fit the bill.

These are bookmakers odds Plym so I wouldn't assume all or even any of these names are actually being considered.

I'm not sure which Scott Parker you are thinking of. The one they are referring to does have a bit of a patchy history but took both Fulham and Bournemouth into the Premier League. I don't have an axe to grind for him but I think "hasn't got much of a CV" is a bit harsh.

I've only ever associated Eddie Howe with Bournemouth's promotion to the top league.

Happy New Year to you all and to your loved ones.

It’s been tough few years with Covid, Ukraine and the cost of living. Let’s hope this is the one when things turn for the better.

What about Lee Johnson? He knows the Championship, won't cost anything and is still young and ambitious.
