Thanks RTB for a quality last matchday thread of 2023. Hopefully playing a striker confuses them more than us! Seriously though, Preston appear to have a weakness against the through ball so Rusyn’s movement could be very effective.
He looked good v Hull, but **** in the games either side of that. Not sure if he's in a dip of form, or the SOuthampton game was the anomaly. Either way I'd be dropping him
I think he may play that but with Pritchard instead of Aouchiche. I'd play: Patterson Pembele Onien Ballard Hume Neil Ekwah Aouchiche Pritchard Clarke Rusyn With Bellingham rested (in for Ekwah otherwise). Harsh on Seelt but it should be a game for an attacking fullback and I think Pembele and Aouchiche could complement eachother down that side. I'd have Mayenda, Rigg and Hemir on the bench too.
New year new Sunderland, back to the quick tempo we got used too, get right ****ing into them, this is not the German lager talking
Happy new year all. And thanks for all the match day threads @RTB . You are the forum anchor man I hope Beale does mix it up with players. We might struggle to start with, but we have a cushion in the league and if it helps us in the long run great. HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM
Just had a text message off my cousin about what time we are meeting up tomorrow and who is coming. Both houses more excited to meet up tomorrow for the match than NYE. That's what it's all about
I'm sorry but I predict an away win. I'm not confident with Beale , even though I initially had no problem with his appointment. We are playing even slower going forward than with TM. Players look totally un interested, and we only got a point against Rotherham with a fluke deflection. I understand he has had limited time to implement his ideas, but I'm not hopeful. How can he constantly turn a blind eye to the attackers? The last 2 games we've had injuries, and he has had a chance to try something new, including PR getting injured but bringing on Ba ...... really, he's out of form and confidence but decides to make the strikers feel more inadequate and ignore them even though we are desperate for goals. I've never felt so against an appointment as I do with Beale, even though he gave the impression that strikers would get there chance. Preston 2-0 winners
I appreciate that but going slower and more predictable, and refusing to play strikers, I can't see us getting anything tomorrow. My opinion only.
I reckon Rotherham denied us 3 points with a worldy goal, 99 times our of 100 it would have ended up in row z in the stands. These things happen in football, its all part of the game. I hope you are wrong about the result tomorrow, a win would lift us all
Week off the drink for me and Mrs G but I’m up and ready for the match today… I don’t know how I feel about it though (the act of getting up that is, Sunderland I always go in with a hope) please log in to view this image
