    Alright all,

    Anyone got any suggestions for where to get the cheapest train tickets going from Aberdeen to Newcastle?

    National Rail Enquiries on-line. They give you options of what train time and you can see at a glance the cost of your choice. No credit/debit card charge either.

    Some hints. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy two singles
    sometimes it cheaper to buy first class ( I know it sounds strange but sometimes train companies have used up their quota of cheap standard class, but still have cheap 1st class. Always check out the first class cost);
    It can be cheaper to look beyond Newcastle., e.g check the cost of Aberdeen to London. Or Aberdeen to York.
    It could also be cheaper to break the journey ( but you would still be on the same train). e.g Aberdeen to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Newcastle.
