Wow, that G1 Challow Novices' Hurdle (15:00) at Newbury looks a corker. Captain Teague (155p) heads the Timeform ratings by a clear 6lbs from Lookaway (149) but a bit further down the ratings we have 2 very exciting horses in Willmount (144P) and Johnnywho (140P) with Masaccio (143p) and Farnoge (141p) If you want to see the full race card with analysis of every runners previous runs you can view here but you need to be registered (which is free) to unlock the ratings etc

Jason the Militant @ 20/1 2.35 Haydock. Ex De Bromhead horse who has been around the top table in Ireland and now in much calmer waters in the mud at Haydock which I suspect will be just fine. Good luck all.
Big punt on Fergal O'Briens's runner Orchestra in the opener at Taunton - 5/1 in to 7/4 Must be Nass and stick
Two 10-lb claimers in the opening conditionals handicap hurdle at Haydock on Front View and Sporty Jim. As Front View could only manage 3rd with the claimer last time I'll go for Sporty Jim
It will be interesting to see whether Jeriko Du Reponet can justify his position at the head of the Supreme market here. I get the feeling he is 8/1 for the supreme by default - has the right connections and we haven't seen an Irish superstar yet. No doubt he'll win by a comfortable 10 lengths and be cut to 3/1 fav for the Supreme
That winner was fav but was a negative MM. obviously due to the strong positive MM of Orchestra. I suspect they are a couple of very nice recruits and Orchestra was just unlucky to bump into another one today
Well on top at the end though Ron and the jockey hardly touched him. 4/1 in places now for the Supreme (bookies are so predictable )
Lovely round there by Issar D'airy on chase debut. Easy winner. Love to see Sinndar progeny doing well. We were lining him up for our mare but both no longer with us. Still saddens me
In the finalé at Newbury (15:35), a Class-3 Novices' Handicap Chase over an extended 2m6f on soft ground, the Coastal Path gelding and favourite, Passing Well, will be very tough to beat. Gavin Sheehan rides for the Jamie Snowden yard. 3/1 best price in most places at time of writing. Have a successful afternoon, folks, if you have a go.
I've been very critical of Jonjo O'Neil on this forum but somehow I hope he has a really good one in Johnnywho so hope he can win this
He looked beaten after the last but fished best of all as the others looked to be treading water. Another 50-100 yards and he would have won. For me a disappointing race. Was really looking forward to this race. I think something went wrong with Willmount early on as I saw the jockey looking down at his hind leg as though he had felt something
