That is for sure. Yep, I remember that interview. Highly recommend Barney Curley's book, 'The sure thing". You will know the main premise of the book but it delves a little deeper into the man behind the scenes as well, nice easy read too.
i must get that book STH. I remember that interview from a few years back. A really interesting bloke and did amazing charidee work.
He did a lot for others indeed, pretty selfless mostly. You should pick it up definitely and it is a book where you would reel off a good few pages at your leisure
250 Cat very very long shot 100/1 shot with bog and 4 places, previous c/d winner and back down to that mark in the same conditions. Tumbling dice
Fact To File very impressive. Big compliment to American Mike there but if they meet again I would fancy FTF to reverse placings. Wonder can American Mike put it up to Gaelic Warrior today?
The (15:23) at Catterick, Class-4 Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m3f on soft-to-heavy ground, gives God's Own Getaway a squeak on his handicap debut. Harry Skelton on board for the family yard. 11/4 (Wm.Hill) best price at time of writing. Non-Runner
I think the grey Asterion Forlonges is overpriced here. How many times have we seen chasers revert to hurdles to good effect?
Oooh, Paddy Mullins giving Danny a good telling off there and rightly so I think. Gaelic Warrior imperious.
Maybe not so much nowadays as in the past (and I do mean 'the past!!) Seem to remember trainer David Gandolfo did this gig quite often. Had a few nice winners when he put a horse who had been chasing into a hurdle event. In fact, the Gandolfo yard was a personal favourite of mine. David Gandolfo was indeed an astute and shrewd trainer, and had 1,500 winners during his 50-years as a trainer.
Sadly A Plus Tard just seems to keep on regressing. Jumped markedly to the right throughout and was very slow over his fences (maybe the ground?). A lifeless performance.
