Real shame but to be expected given the images and replay of the injury. The hyper extension looked awful and one or more of the 4 main ligaments in the knee has went.
Terrible for the lad, If he didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all. Hope he can stay strong mentally and that we look after him. Good luck lad.
Terrible news. I feel really sorry for the lad. I hope the surgery goes well and we see him back fighting fit late next year.
As a Knock on effect his contact negotiations become that bit more strained. Recently there was a really good post about how injury impacted Ross Stewarts negotiations.
Any significance in the club not naming the specific injury, or might it be that they won't know until he gets opened up?
I'd guess they won't know the full scope until they open his knee up, gutted for him and for us, got to wonder about why it is we seem to suffer so many big injuries
If so,what would your estimate be of likely time out including rehab and recovery mate? Also,is this a re-occurance of his previous injury?
Would like to see the club offer him an extension for the time he is out injured, at current wages etc.. as he is not likely to be amongst highest paid and looking for an increase to stay like Stewart. That way we look after him and give him a chance to get going again and earn a better contract. The lad must be gutted twice now he has really started to look a top player for us only to get a lengthy injury. One thing you can bet on, if he does move on he will become ever present somewhere else never getting injured
I don't believe it's a reoccurrence. Depends what they find when they go in. But I'd say 8-10 months.
No worries. I mean we are nearly a full year on with Corey Evans having an injury that in the same physiological ball park. So there is your timeline. Have to say if Evans takes much longer, I would be surprised if he makes it back to the same level.
