Just watched the highlights. Favourite moment was when the first, second, third, fourth and fifth goals went in. What a fantastic result.
I take it that Newcastle don’t have a recall clause in the loan deal for Fraser? The way they are struggling for fit players…..
I’m pretty confident now that we just need to carry on averaging 2 points per game and better, and we don’t need to worry about the teams above us. We’ll just slowly, inexorably, get on terms with them.
Unfortunately the highlights didn't show it, but there was a really heartwarming moment, when Joe Allen - just subbed on - got really grumpy because we wouldn't let Swansea have the ball, so he hacked Charly down out of frustration.
Fraser and Edozie are fantastic complementary and contrasting wingers. Edozie is so good to watch, Fraser is so efficient it’s scary.
10 home games played by Burnley in the PL this season. They've lost 9 of them. The only side who didn't beat them is the only side sitting below them in the table. I suspect a fair few of their fans are missing the Championship.
Where we were in block 34, we had a perfect view of Fandabs most devasting work. Honestly, it was a joy to watch. Beat his man every single time. Pure entertainment.
Yeah we need to go up to come straight back down so we can continue to be one of the top dogs in the Championship.
If the Mini-Skates can do it and the likes of Fulham and Brighton, then there's no reason that we can't. SR have proved that they are willing to invest plus we already have a wealth of young talent that will grow and get better naturally in time. Villa have only been in the league for a few seasons and look at them now. This season is very much the start of a new era for the club and a break with the past with new appointments throughout the whole club at every level and it's already off to a very good start, nobody knows how high the ceiling is for the club at this point.
We had four top ten finishes less than a decade ago with European qualification, no reason that we can't do it again.
Id say it’s harder now than it was then, with the investment in teams like Newcastle and Villa. We mainly had those successes on the back of spending more than a lot of our rivals and good recruitment. SR seem cool with the spending bit but you could argue the recruitment has been naïve at best But ultimately I do think we could be a low top half side if we get a lot of factors right, as we have done it before. Is obviously very hard to get the right combo of manager and players consistently
