Very impressive. Don't rush to back him ante post for Cheltenham; trainer stated vey clearly that his No 1 target is the French Gold Cup and then maybe the 2024 KG back at Kempton. Didn't rule out Cheltenham but clearly not the main target

That one was for you Oddy, £800 horse winning the KG. The magic isn't really gone is it? These results seem to happen sometimes.

He shouted Cheltenham about 25 times to the crowd and to Matt Chapman Ron?

Edit: Misinterpreted your post Ron. I understan you meant Ils Est and not Hewick

    Please carry on

Didn't see that STH but in his interview after the race he was adamant that the French Gold Cup had always been the main target for the owner and that Cheltenham was just a possibility. Guess we'll have to wait and see

How could Hewick win that at level weights? How could he have gone off as low as 12/1? What is going on? Where am I? <laugh>

I was referring to Il Est Francais

Fontaine Collonges was pretty impressive at Wetherby too, but he was receiving 13lb from the second

Ran a belter and smashed up in the betting, bumped into a Brassil horse which often leaves a sour taste in my mouth when he defeats one I've backed with his history of substance abuse on horses. Oh well, definitely a decent race that one for the future.

The owner of Il Est Francais must be thinking what if. They didn't exactly go slow in the KG but Il Est Francais led all the way to win his race in a time almost 4.5 secs faster than the KG. Would they have kept up with him had he run in this year's KG? Interesting

    Excellent :emoticon-0148-yes:
I couldn't watch the race live, I've just seen it now, dramatic finish.

The horses I put up today are still running. Awful day.

The dream that keeps lots of small owners ploughing their money into the sport. You do not have to have millions to take part and if you are lucky you can make it pay.
