I think this sums my feelings up... I'm sure Seri was looking after himself today (AFCON).... shirked everything. We have zero subs that influence or change a game. For the XYG stat men... how long did we spend in our half and of that how long did we have the ball in our half... Its just not ****ing working Rosenior. If you hadn't had Philogene before he was injured you'd be up **** creek.

I’m home visiting from Australia and attended my first game in about 4 and a half years. My observations are as follows:
    Sunderland are ****
We’re slightly ****ter but still has the best opportunities so really should have won the game.
    Jobe Bellingham isn’t very good.
Tyler Morton is a very classy player.
Rosie has to take responsibility for that result. I’m not sure why we set up like we did. We played 10 yards too deep for the full game. We had zero outlet whenever we won the ball back every single player was in our own half and we were relying on delap to carry the ball 60 yards upfield to create anything. Bizzare set up.

How many chances do we need to score a goal? A dozen...
You had Connolly five yards from goal, with acres of space and loads of time and his effort was so tame their keeper could have thrown his hat at it...The sad truth is that we're not good enough vs sides who mix it....We can forget about play offs and concentrate on finishing in the top half...That's the reality.

But you get some people on here who criticises any time anybody complains about what we are doing.
They think we are playing our best football and should be happy where we are in the table.

I've noticed...If we can't score goals.. We'll do well to get a point from the next two.

PS...Jack Clarke was heads and shoulders the best player on the pitch.

    Allreet fellas.
Not been on here since we were last in league 1 together.
We've both come a long way since being stuck in that league.
    Close one today.
Obviously happy with that result especially after our last game.

Good luck for the rest of the season, apart from against us again in a few weeks .

I'm sure LR will have learnt from the mistakes from this meeting and be ready to put a better game plan together in just over 3 weeks time :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I wouldnt say he was left back
more midfield while covering for the left back area
I thought we would have been better off with macca in central defence and greaves as left back
we have played that often enough before
ideally I would have greaves as a centre back too with Coyle right back and somebody else at left back

Same for Beale. Hasn't had time to put his stamp on it yet.

We could have extra games together if we both make the playoffs.

In those three weeks he'll have plenty of time to come up with other weird ideas to learn from

The team looked totally unbalanced first half and the build up was uncomfortably slow with only Tufan and Delap confident on the ball hence the tedious passing about left to right and right to left. I was expecting Greaves to left back and Macca in the middle and Slater for Seri (who as it turned out seemed to be taking time out for the African Nations Cup) to give better balance. Jones’’ accuracy and weight of pass was well off. Coyle handled Jack Clarke well until injury forced him off but the writing was on the wall once Christie replaced him. I would have thought Slater to right back and Christie to left back would have been better or else doubling up on Clarke. Delap was a thorn in the Mackems’ backside all match but needs to improve his decision making and hold up play. Twine is a waste playing wide left as the majority of his touches and passes was just a lay back inside or else to an opposition player as was seen after a great pass from Lokilo! In fact Lokilo gave us better balance and his hold up play was the best of any City player and brought others into the game.

    The managers
    Hull's Liam Rosenior:

"It was a very evenly matched game between two teams pushing for the top six. I thought we had the better chances, but they also had some degree of control.

"We're not taking control of the big moments of games - we didn't take our chances when they came our way. I'm tired of coming out with the same story. We haven't got the points our performances deserve.

"At 0-0 with 20 minutes to go we had to make sure we kept the back door shut. It's a difficult one to take, but we now have to focus on a difficult game against Blackburn.

"We have to be more clinical at one end and more ruthless at the other. If we do that we've got the makings of a really good team. The players are a frustrated group as they know how good they can be."

    Sunderland's Michael Beale:

"I knew it would be a tough game and that we hadn't won away from home for a long time, but I thought we should have won by more.

"We missed some big chances. Some of our interplay was good and it was just whether we could execute that in the final third.

"I'm absolutely delighted with the mentality of the side.

"That's a big, big positive, but the big thing for me is that we need consistency. We must back it up against Rotherham.

"The inconsistency tells me we can't get too high or too low - it's important we keep going."

In all seriousness if we're still resorting to sticking someone like Slater, a central midfielder by trade, at full back by then after three weeks of the window being open, I'll be concerned
