http://www.buzzfeed.com/daves4/12-extremely-disappointing-facts-about-popular-mus Came across this and was very disappointed with mankind.
Its a bit strange that they would use Led Zep as an example of a band with no #1 singles considering they didnt release singles. Wasn't their thang
Do not fear. Popularity was never the actual point of groundbreaking and lifechanging rock n roll. Plus, you only have to sell about 300 singles these days to get into the top ten. At the Beatles peak you had to sell about 250,000 to reach no.1. And, most importantly, when people grow older and are asked who was musically important to them, The Beatles, Elvis, Zepplin, Simon & Garfunkel and Hendrix will always come above twats like Bieber. I liked the Bay City Rollers as a kid but as an adult my only memories of that time are T.Rex. It's not by chance that Buddy Holly only recorded in a studio for a couple of years and was dead by 22 and yet Pat Boone lived and recorded for many many more years, yet we all know who was of absolute importance and will never be forgotten in popular music.
Who cares about it? When I die, people will still be talking about Zeppelin, Hendrix, Nirvana etc No one will give a **** about Rihanna, Kesha, Justin Bieber etc
Barbara Streisand is great. The Beatles were the original manufactured boy band, totally over rated who stopped performing live when they moved on from three chord drivel because they were ****e at their instruments. Hendrix just played any old ****e on stage and was called a genius improvisor whereas in fact he hadn't a Scooby. Nirvana were absolute pants. Only coz the **** killed himself is he revered.
. Celine Dion's “Falling Into You” sold more copies than any Queen, Nirvana, or Bruce Springsteen record 7. Same with Shania Twain's “Come On Over” I would like to have sex with Shania Twain

How were the Beatles manufactured ? they were playing as a band in Hamburg years before the became famous you prick
Everyone is wrong and you are right From a keen blues guitarist I can tell you that you are talking though your hole. There is a bad way to improvise and a good way to improvise and guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Hendrix, Rory Gallagher etc are considered at the top of their field for a good reason. Good improvisation requirs you to know the mapping of the fretboard inside out, keep the rythmn and key in sync with your accompaniment, knowing the chord progressions, the relative minor/majors, knowing your scales. In short you have zero clue. While not a big fan of the Beatles and Nirvana at least they were original and their impact on music since has been incredible. Anyway for fans of good music, listen to this little beauty from the legend that is Tony Rice. Perfect example of the fretbord knowledge, chord knowledge and touch of a truely great guitar player
