Edozie is unplayable

 

Edozie is torturing their right side. Great to watch.

 

Stuart seems a little flat. Getting into great positions but slow to react when getting the ball

 

That seems like a harsh yellow card. Unless I didn’t watch it closely. It was either very harsh or very stupid from Bednarek. I guess it’s notable that I’m more prepared to believe that it is harsh

 

A nice early goal to settle the nerves. Now go for the jugular and boost that goal difference.

 

It wasn't terrible but pretty late.

 

Have I misunderstood what sorts of challenges should warrant yellow cards?

The way the commentators described it Bednarek was lucky not to have killed him

 

If Aribo and Bednarek get yellow then that should be a second one for Cullen

Brilliant half from Edozie. Completely bamboozled Humphries for the goal.

 

I enjoyed most of that but I have a real issue with the way our fullbacks, particularly on the left, defend against wingplay. We are so slow to pressure them and they can cross without any worries. That is one issue we had game one and still have.

 

Stephens has been very good while not entirely sure what position he's playing! He lined up at kick off as RCB then moved into midfield then out on the right. It's very effective as Swansea aren't stopping his runs through midfield.

 

I wouldn't say awful. He's the player who takes most risks.

 

Usual Saints. On top but not turning good positions into chances and goals.
Need to remember that Swansea have had an extra day off to rest, so they will be looking for us to tire before them. Be good to have another goal or two before we do run out of steam.
Hoping the ref will be as charitable to Aribo and/or Bednarek if they make a challenge that could lead to a second yellow.

 

I don't know why Russ doesn't have a word with Manning. Manning is always 10 yards too close to Bednarek, leaving an ocean of space for RW. He does it every game.

 

Which makes it seem like the plan? He doesn’t exactly bust a gut to get over there either. And Edozie, who has been superb, is a very poor defender so Manning needs to work extra hard.
