Kempton currently a mixture of good and good-soft. Hopefully it won't be too firm for Constitution Hill
Best wishes to everyone for a healthy Christmas My best bet runs at Fontwell [1.07]...I know stable have targeted this race for a while Just One Surf Each Way @ 13-2 [Bet 365]
King George VI Chase at Kempton (14:30), a Grade-1, Class-1, event over 3m. Will have a very modest interest in Hewick e/w, who I hope will make the frame. Only 6-runners but there are some excellent chasers in the field. Gavin Sheehan takes the ride for the J. J. Hanlon yard. Hanlon commented that Hewick has been surprising him in recent work, but that should be taken with a pinch of salt.
I was going to dutch the two If horses, Allaho (if he's as good as he was) and Shishkin (if he decides to take part) but, considering the size of the IFs, the odds are too short. Watch only for me
Same for me, Ron, but I’m going to throw a tenner on Shishkin at 20/1 for the Gold Cup, even though I’m not convinced he won’t show his antics again. Well worth it, since he will shorten dramatically if he wins today.
Merry Xmas all. Going for the fairytale in the KG and backing The Real Whacker @ 9/1 and not just because I like to see the little guy prevail on such occasions. The front 3 in the market all have a few negatives to answer and I reckon TRW will be spot on for this. Good luck all but most of all come on The Whacker.

How on earth can the Lieutenant be dubbed "The Forum's Favourite Trainer" lately, what with the antics he (and Shishkin) are getting-up to?
Wow, Pilgrim, you have really been working hard going through the fields for all these Boxing Day meetings! I haven't even started yet.
At most of the racecourses I didn't want to look at anything (Wetherby, Wincanton, Down Royal, Limerick, Fontwell...). It's not a day to go crazy, modest odds, rare for me, except one a bit high. Giovinco more with the heart than the head (I have Il Est Francais 33/1 for Turners and would not want him to win). Let's hope it happens like with Crambo.
Loves his big handicap hurdles though doesn't he? A 1-3 in the Greatwood followed up by a 1-2 in the big "Whatever its called these days" handicap hurdle on Saturday at Ascot
15:40 Kempton -Artistic Endeavour 12:32 Fontwell - Cochise 12:40 M Rasen - Taras Halls 14:22 M Rasen - Major Fortune 13:35 Wetherby- Empire Steel (All at SP - Am too tired to post "best prices at time of writing")
Yes, quite true Oddy. Don't know why I have never taken to him, but won't dwell on that. Sir Michael Stoute is probably my favourite trainer, Flat or NH. Seems to be a super guy and very proud to be a Barbadian. NH? Well, I have more than one favourite trainer, but one has to include Willie Mullins, Paul Nicholls, Fergal O'Brien, et al.
Mywayofthinkin 10/1 - Leopardstown 3.30. Could be the one here. It will be a nice race with a few decent prospects but hearing decent things about this McManus runner from around the locality.
I’m going to add Sea invasion who in the hands of shrewd Chris Gordon could improve again today.jockey booking a positive also. In the last Masons glory is another at a big price who could sneak under the radar. Back to Frodon. He owes me nothing. It’s not a vintage renewal, with questions to ask about the field. If they don’t bring their a game he could be hard to catch, a positive ride from Bryony and jumps like a stag. Cheers.
The eye really gets drawn to the pedigree of SKY LORD in that bumper. Half brother to Le Milos and Kid Commando plus the dam, Banjaxed Girl, won on both her bumper starts for Nige.
Caveat Emptor. Do not shoot the messenger time. Information received: Wetherby 3:20 V TWELVE – second last time at Carlisle off a one pound lower mark, having only fifth start over obstacles here.
