Delap Twine Greaves. ... Early Christmas present for Bristol City. Thought their second was a goal keeping error and the third certainly was which will have ruined Inghams Christmas. Overall it was a good open game which City let slip. I thought at 2-1 up on 75mins McLoughlin should have brought on to stiffen up the back line. But we created plenty of chances and its a shame Connelly was crocked because he was looking dangerous. Thought Delap was excellent, again, but when the pressure was on our midfield looked a bit lightweight. Heard the plan to fly the team there came unstuck too and was cancelled because of the weather? So not the best of nights for us and we really should have come away with at least a point.
Delap Connolly Tufan Good performances from Seri, Jones, Greaves, Twine, Morton. Poor performances from Allsop, Ingram, Christie and Coyle. It made the difference in the end. Subs did very little, though to be fair to Lokilo he didn't have that long to do much.
Delap Continued his good form to take on defenders & put dangerous crosses in again Connolly Great goal, Tufan. Was required to play in 3 or 4 different positions throughout the game and did well in each Hard to believe we lost the game after some really good performances by a number of our players. But we concede a really unlucky handball penalty, and gift two other bad goals through keeping errors. Allsop & Ingram were not needed to make any noticeable saves otherwise.
Delap - Starting to blossom on that right side now, I bet he's horrible to play against. Tufan - Kept us moving forward and rarely played a bad pass. Greaves - Imperious at times. Connolly was close for his tenacity and goal but his passing and ball retention suffered a bit too often. Twine was good too considering he was clearly out of position.
Liam Delap - hard to believe hes only 20 Tufan - Cant fault the effort Connolly - Hard to pick a third but good goal well taken.
Five points for first choice, three for second, one for third. Delap 82 Tufan 40 Connolly 25 Twine 4 Greaves 4 Jones 4 Coyle 2 Morton 1 Still hurting this one. Roll on Sunderland.
