I meant his determination he probably has inside him to succeed with this opportunity.

I always think we should rank players based on their performance at the level they were playing at. On that basis I'd suggest Burgess and Allsopp as one of our best pairings, not Chilton/Wagstaff heights but even so a fantastic combination.

You usually have some good insight but I seriously think you’ve got this one wrong. He’s clearly still hungry to play and score goals, he’s been robust from a fitness point of view all of his career, and he’s clearly still fit and raring to go.

I expect to see him challenging for a starting berth within the first ten games, and I certainly see him scoring, he’s done that all of his career. I then wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him offered a 12 month extension to his playing contract whilst easing himself into a coaching role.

It’s all about opinions though, that’s what makes it such a great game.

I don’t want to get it twisted that I think the signing is shrewd for where we are aiming, I am just not expecting much on the playing side.

If we have got him in to realistically be challenging to be a starting player then I'm sorry but we should be aiming higher and for better. To be a impact player off the bench and give us more options then it's potentially a decent option for us.

If it has not been posted here before LR is good at defensive play (barring mistakes Seri makes) Dawson also a carer defender. We have lacked the goal poacher skills so I hope Sharp is here to play as an off the bench with a view of him joining the coaching staff

Mmm, could effect some incomings if we didn’t get him in the wage bill.

And I suspect it will mainly be cameos so in terms of numbers, not sure how many we would expect in half a season. Two or three late assists/ goals would gain us a few extra points and would certainly be more than the young lad who has played little cameos the last few games.

Re Connolly tonight, maybe thats why they signed Sharp. Maybe suits LR style and maybe they have never really got to the bottom of Connolly toe/ foot problem and decided that it may happen again...

Allsop is good with the ball at his feet and his long range passing really benefits our build up, but has cost us on several occasions now.
Ingram is the better shot stopper but is completely unable to play the way we and Rosenior want to. The defence look more nervous with him in goal and so do the crowd.

Out of the two i'd persevere with Allsop for the time being, but if we're serious about promotion we need to strengthen in January.

I wonder if there’s a way of objectively tallying up the amount of times taking big risks at the back has gained us goals vs cost us.

I would bet it’s quite heavily weighted toward the latter, but would be interesting to see.

And let’s not pretend Allsopp doesn’t play suicide balls like that every now and then too. Fortunately we seem to get away with them more often than not, like tonight there was another catalogue of errors following it which led to the goal, where normally the danger would have been cut out.

We should be realistic. If we gain promotion to the PL through the play offs neither of our first team goalkeepers will be good enough. Allsop has already made lots of mistakes this season which has cost us points.

On other matters Christie has been ineffective and especially so tonight. Why he was not pulled at half time when we could all see he was off the pace

Well Furlong looks like being an eighth of a mile off playing, so why the hell not give Matty Jacob a try...

What o font u set stand if you are closed diwn ax our back 4 were why do you not just hoof it on that occasion ? The boss must make that clear to the keeper . When Ingrammade that pass to their man what the f was he thinking - it’s a panic move not an error - pure panic r nerves - so maybe he is less calm than Allsopp ?
