Grade-1 Class-1 Howden Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot (14:25) over an extended 3m on good-to-soft ground is a cracker of a race.

Really hope I don't put the mockers on Pilgrim's selection, but Crambo is the one I fancy too. l particularly like the booking of the excellent NH jockey, Jonathan Burke, by the Fergal O'Brien yard. Gelding is improving all the time. Tongue-strap applied.

Have a successful Saturday, folks, if you have a go! :emoticon-0167-beer:

I wouldn’t be surprised if he won or ran well. It’s a really difficult race to my eye. I don’t think he’s in the league of Champ or Paisley Park at their best, but they are long in the tooth.

I hope he wins, but I couldn’t be betting.

On similar grounds it could be argued that West Balboa is in with a good chance

Red Risk 28/1 meets West Balboa on better terms than when going down by a short head in last season’s Lanzarote.

How does that 50K Graduation Chase at Ascot attract only 3 runners?

Crambo is definitely the wrong price on what we have seen so far. Should be around 6 to 8/1 for it but they've priced it up on potential. He will need a career best and for the elder statesmen to underperform also, which is not beyond the realms of possibility. There are several in the same category as Crambo and then the obvious battle hardened runners. Looks an interesting race. Best of luck those on the Crambo, hopefully he can show himself to be a leading light among this division today.

It was remiss of me not to include a second selection with Crambo in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot (14:25). Botox Has owes me nothing and am happy to correct this oversight. A solid stayer, so there is no reason why he should not run well. Caolin Quinn on board for the Gary Moore stable.

9/1 (Bet365/PP) seems to be the best price at time of writing. E/W best option.
