From the brief 45 minute appearance Monday night, Pembele loves getting forward.

Hes going to be exciting imo

Was really looking forward to being at the Coventry game but have fallen ill so can’t make it.
I have an Over 65 Email ticket I can’t use, if anyone wants it, no charge. Premier Concourse, let me know.
Anyone got a Mags game ticket I can buy, fat chance, but worth asking :emoticon-0105-wink:

With regards to Roberts, he may well have been playing to the tactical instructions given to him by TM.

Let's See what the new head coach does to improve Roberts output, because for me, he is one of our most technically gifted players who can make something happen.

Having Hume overlapping on the outside of Roberts rather than coming inside into an already congested midfield would help as well.

Fair point, mixing things up might get the best out of him. He's been playing well on the whole it's just he keeps running into a brick wall at the crucial moment, maybe Beale has a way to knock it down for him.

I think we will see subtle tweaks in the coming games, I'd really like to see us getting the odd ball forward quicker for forwards to run onto.

The first 20 minutes at Bristol we hit some beautiful cross field balls that bothered them

Aye it's a waste having all these rapid forwards and not taking advantage of it. We've got plenty of players who can pick a pass.

I think we saw those tweaks in the 2 home games under Dodds. Don't think I've seen Clarke try to go past his man on the outside so much and put the ball in with his left foot, can't remember him trying to cut in on his right as much as he did previously

League 1. This season 1 assist in 1 sub appearance totalling 9 mins,, compared to Roberts, 1 assist in 15 starts and 5 sub appearances.

This is the only option for me unless Beale can somehow get Roberts to start producing. Hume isn’t great going forward and Roberts isnt quick enough to play the line by himself imo.

To have as many goal contributions this season as Bennette, who’s played 8 minutes of football, is quite frankly embarrassing for a player that Mowbray claimed was the best in the league or one of. It’s almost like watching a BTEC Allan Saint-Maximin.

Big part of the game, used against us by most teams we face, but by us going gung ho as seems to be most supporters choice, the opportunity to hit cross field balls forward are scarce, and it does not help that the favourite passes of a few , is the easy route sideways or the ever popular and even easier back pass to sender. One concern I had about Beales training session was him telling the wide men to play wider, I will watch with interest tommorrow to see how that works out. <ok>

I do wonder of the sideways and backwards passing are more a confidence thing with the players?

We seemed to move much quicker in all areas last season and at times this season and I always think we look far more dangerous

Its possession football , and understandable in many ways, but it gives opponents time to re-organise , this is illustrated in statistics which seem at first glance to favour the sides with least possession .

It will be interesting to see if we move back to that fast paced attacking football.

I won't be complaining it we do

Think you've nailed it there marra. It's ok to keep the ball going backwards and sideways, but it needs to be played at a high tempo.I'm convinced, the quicker we are,the more effective we are.
