Department of culture, media, sport have released a statement basically saying they will stop any club joining this by new laws.
Let's take what they do in that ****ing dreadful international tournament And then, apply that nonsense to a league consisting of the extremely rich from every European country Anyone who supports this bollocks is a div
Newcastle are probably one of the few **** clubs that could get promoted over time. The idea makes it a hopless case for most clubs I'm further annoyed by this bullshit deceptive marketing and they can go and **** off quite frankly. The minute you hear sporting merit you should vomit.
I know mate, but once it starts people will start watching it. The fans of the clubs involved will not be able to just stop.. some might but over time they'll be replaced by young fans who have only ever known the super league. Essentially it will become normal and all the people opposed to it will get quieter and quieter and eventually all die. They'll market it well and at the end of the day the fans in America and China want the super league. I don't think it can be stopped and I don't think they'll care about a few hundred thousand fans when they're now catering for the millions abroad.
The super league never was a replacement for league football. it was a replacement to the champ league. The only reason it really kicked up a fuss was because of it being a closed pool. if some rival comes along and sets up a rival to the CL with any team able to participate then will get a lot more traction. Uefa are just as **** and don’t for one second believe they ‘had the fans in mind’ when they protested few years ago. They don’t seem to mind holding CL finals in 80k seater stadiums and giving real fans 20k allocation. They’re concerned all the sponsorship and tv money they get for the CL will go to someone else. Money talks for every one and the fans get dragged along. I don’t imagine the new people are any less in it for the money that Uefa
It's by far a bigger evil and removes the threat of competition for the ****house clubs completely. It's a revolting idea from already revolting clubs. I agree though it's the way it goes we will need to just forget football and any hopes of winning anything... at least we'll have closure.
I don't watch the Europa League or Champions League if we aren't in it, literally couldn't care less about it unless Newcastle are involved. They may be able to get the international viewings absolutley but locals to the clubs will lose interest and no one is going to watch Liverpool vs Barcelona with 30k empty seats or no atmosphere because the Muhumat Bizarumi college have been gifted 500 seats and don't know the songs. Tbh I think it could be a success for those that go and do it with the international viewing paying obscene amounts but I think those clubs that do will lose their local following very quickly even if it is to lower league teams and the clubs will become soulless advertising boards. Let's face it, the "Big 6" didn't pull out because they thought it was an "illegal" league that couldn't get going, everyone knew the decision today would come back the way it has but they pulled out because of the fans reaction to it and I can't see that changing anytime soon...
I don't think they did I think they realised there was a legal obstacle, so they pulled out pretending they were sorry and made a mistake. We will now enter a phase of media manipulation where fans begin to see a back and forth argument for and against their clubs joining. It's actually already happening and there's more fans for it.
Agree to disagree, I can't see it in my mind, I think a lot of local fans would go and see their local clubs more if it happened so it could be a good thing tbh. The top clubs at the top of the game are ruining it, trying to secure their place at the top of the tables and if 20 of them from across Europe piss off... Ce la vie... The A22 group would be better off sorting an "All Star" tournament out for the years there's no Euros or World Cup. You could do 64/32 teams from leagues around the world either in groups or straight knockouts. EPL, Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, Seria A, Eredivise, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, USA, Portugal etc. would all be able to put out really interesting teams. Say squads of 26 with 2 max from any teams in the league and a minimum of 1 from each team. That I would watch.
Yeah exactly, just from my personal point of view I wouldn't attend a Super League game and wouldn't have much interest in it. If Newcastle were there I'd probably look out for results but wouldn't be majorly fussed about it.
I'd have no interest myself but unfortunately we are nothing in comparison to the mass numbers of American fans that football has been purchased for. Our national sport has been sold... the Americans saw the opportunity and just bought it and then sold it to their markets.
Looks like good news actually and that the clubs are still saying no to it. I'm surprised , but I do still anticipate they will do it somewhere in the future.
Even Man United & PSG have rejected, according to Romano. Most clubs have. So far only Barca and Real openly in favour.
The Italian clubs all in and I would bet Tottenham are keen... of all the English clubs Tottenham will be the most keen. Has that **** levy said anything yet ?
A media manipulation is an every day occurrence to every tacit of life because Rupert murdoch is a ****
