I can understand a few players not being happy with the lack of opportunity they've had, but we've got a new boss in now and there's every chance it'll be completely different for them. I'd like to see more love given to our strikers and Bennette too. He's a very dynamic and direct player and I'd wager that if he'd had the minutes that Roberts has he'd have done a lot more with them.
Good to see him with his hair down so to speak, seems a nice bloke. Looks like we got the multilingual coach we were after, can only be beneficial given our squad.
“It was my privilege to work in your country” The emotional way he said this at the end says it all If he’s as good as I think he’ll be, we’ll have to rename him Michelo Bielsa
[ Can’t say I blame the lad. He and other players were passed over by Magic Grandad when if anything they needed extra support. Edit: please log in to view this image
I think Roberts is a fantastic player but I think we could of played anyone in his position this season and it wouldn't have any more of a negative effect on any results. I really can't see how he starts nearly every game , I cannot see what he brings to the team. TM was quite open in his admiration of him, I think now is the time he was taken out of the team and someone else gets a chance. I think he's become quite comfortable that he will be playing even when he isn't producing
I hope the not being respected is lost in translation somewhere. To be honest I thought he was injured, as he is always worth at least a spot on the bench! Bennette or Dack to come on for the last 20 minutes? I know who I would choose!
You can understand his frustrations tbf I'd have gave him a shot on the right when Roberts or ba aren't playing well but I'm not a manager or anything so what would I know.
I think with Bennette it's a more unique case than the French lads, as there's a few of them and even if one or two are not playing as much as they'd like they've got the social aspect after training to help them integrate and feel more comfortable with a new country. Mayenda has been in France since the age of 12 and I understand that French is his native language anyway, he did his SAFC.com signing interview in French. This means that Jewi is probably the only native Spanish speaker in the squad, this combined with his age means he has probably been quite isolated. Fingers crossed this change of circumstances is good for him.
