When all said and done it's another chance of a cup gone. Howe is going to have to win something in the next few seasons, that's the reality. We/he can't keep being the nearly man.
They'll not win anything mate .. they simply don't have the players or the manager required to win one. I'll be delighted if I'm proved wrong , but fronlm what I've seem Howe had poor in game management and we keep repeatedly conceding late goals.
I said when the takeover happened our first trophy will be the league because at least we can do it over a season as we can't do cups/cup finals. I don't want to be right because that will be quite a few seasons away yet
I said the beginning of this season that Howe will get another season, perhaps 2 and theyd be looking at an upgrade. Won't come from Amanda, but I think PIF will expect it. He will know himself, a cup will become expected and he knows the pressure will be on to win one. If we aren't in Europe next season, it might be a goal for the club.
I'm beginning to think Newcastle will never win anything regardless of the takeover. I mean ffp is now being enforced, there's only 3 cups available and the big clubs grow richer year on year in terms of what they can spend. Newcastle are at the limit with FFP so they're going to have to sell their best players ... it's more likely to go wrong than right when replacing them.
Simon Jordan is a c*nt but he's been saying all along on Talksport that although Eddie Howe has done a remarkable job at Newcastle, to move up to the next level, a proven top level manager will need to be brought in before Newcastle ever win owt. Always thought that was a load of sh*te but after these ever frequently late capitulations and watching Eddie playing Matt f*ckin' Ritchie instead of whoever else is on the bench, I'm starting to think that Jordan might have a point. That's my bed wet for tonight!
During Ashley the club was weak as piss, mentally. Post takeover, not an awful lot has really changed. Our best players, or most played, are as much Ashley’s as the new owners. Hell even Howe is an Ashley manager. Who do we cry out for? Joelinton, Willock and Howe believes Almiron, Longstaff, Schar, Wilson don’t need replacing. As I said, if we’re just a good PL side with the occasional European experience, then we’re in a good place and maybe our expectations are skewed. But Staveley was talking up Euro dominance within five years of 2021; you’re not getting that with plucky Eddie, Almiron, Longstaff and the rest.
Feels to me that the eternal ****ing optimists are really struggling tonight. Feels to me that maybe people are getting that this is not what the takeover promised. Either Staveley is full of ****, or something needs to change.
She did say within 5 to 10 years mind roly and then they changed the rules on sponsorship and started actually enforcing ffp. It is barely year 3, but tbh I don't think they'll succeed. There's always going to be better sides, sides that are just as capable and sides that can beat Newcastle when it counts. The odds will always be against Newcastle winning anything. It's best to just accept it... you dont hear the other also ran clubs talking about how long its been or expecting to win anything either... Newcastle is actually a long standing joke unfortunately. Newcastle will be going away to Sunderland with an exhausted side devoid of the new regimes signings.... Howe's failures are beginning to show.
I’m struggling still to work out what the game plan was. These stats are awful. Fans paid money to go watch one team play football.
All managers have their favourites and thejr own points to prove from Sunday league right upto the Premier league. Howe will therefore say no to Hall because he chose Burn and goodness knows what else. I can guarantee despite the belief the groups all together that there's youth players running rings around Ritchie in training thinking wtf do I have to do to get a few minutes.
Newcastle were dreadful and despite being robbed of playing vs 10 men for 90 minutes they deserved to go out. I've been saying this for a while and it's as clear as day that this manager has run the side into the ground Bielsa style and that his in game management is dreadful.... sooner or later more people will accept this is fair comment. I'm not saying replace him he's done an excellent job , but there's things he needs to change and can learn hopefully.
Regards to Hall, wasn't he a midfielder who's been/being converted to a left back? He probably just isn't that good at LB and the £30m is better spent elsewhere
No, you see that’s where you are making the common mistake. You’re assuming that Howe & Co, who have watched him play and train every day since he arrived, know more about him than everyone here on this Forum. Rookie mistake.
They scout players he's not on trials.. it's more likely the manager sees Livramento as left back because he has to accommodate trippier and therefore wants the 30 million towards another plodder in Phillips, mctomminay or maguire.
Scouting a player isn’t the same as watching him up close every day.. But I bow to your greater knowledge and insight than the manager and coaching staff.
You don't need to act like a child mate there's more than one possibility. He may yet play it could be a contractual ffp situation among many other things upto and including favouritism. In the the next few months you might begin to acknowledge I may be correct and that I'm simply bold in my assessments. You're entitled to your own.
Behave. I make a statement which is more logical than your’s and you get all defensive. Of course there is more than one possibility but between your view and mine which is more likely to be correct? Try not to be sensitive.
