I quite fancied us having an up and coming exotic foreign manager simply because I thought that was the route we were heading. It absolutely does not guarantee success though and most likely fails more often than it works. Professional football people at our club have conducted a series of interviews with a range of candidates and have concluded that MB is the best fit for the club going forward and have uplifted Dodds' role for the exact same reasoning. Given that they know a lot more about football management/coaching than I do, then I fully support their decision making here. If this is to be successful then it is unlikely to be overnight and I hope (probably in vein) that those with their own agenda to pedal or are desperate to be proved right that they know more than the professionals at the club, keep this to themselves and at least give him a chance to prove what he can undoubtedly do.
Even someone with half a brain knows that doesn't make any sense, why would we bother hiring Beale at all if that was the case? Players wanting to leave is slightly more believable but still very unlikely.
He shouldn't feel of hear any negativity on Saturday mind. The opposite. It's up to us to make him feel welcome, and I'll be doing my bit in that.
Social media outcry isn't the correct way to measure the negativity, like you say Saturday will show a completely different story.
No-one does mate. Ask each Sunderland player anonymously, what they thought about Mowbray, and there'll be different answers ... ... I'm only interested in the style of football, which the club seem to be instilling, and the results. I'm sure some Leicester players hated Pearson and some Ranieri ... seemed to work though.
It's as simple as this for me. If we'd appointed some bloke from Natinal League North, once done, I'd back him. We haven't. We've appointed a very well regarded bloke who dropped a bollock before he left QPR and did at least okay at Rangers. Some say a lot better than that. But, even none of that matters. He's "one of us" now, so as far as I'm concerned, and I'd guess most others too, he gets our full backing.
Liked his interview. Just hope someone can get him to sort his F's from the TH's.....for Thuck's sake!
Well one thing I’m not concerned about is can he handle a big crowd atmosphere, I wasn’t so sure about the others in the frame.
Class, hope this is true cos thats his role. The biggest challenge him and the rest of the coaches have right now is to get more creativity out of Roberts, Clarke, Pritch etc and get some confidence into the strikers to be more clinical. We need far more attacking goals threat in the final 3rd Everything else at the moment is ridiculous noise.
You heard good stuff since he came in or is this previous to this week mate. Just wondering if the players have took an instant shine to him.
One worry I have about this...I hope Doddsy and Proc can gel with him. If they can,our prospects are much better than if there's some kind of clash with training ground methods,or off field player management. Hope MB is mature enough and MD and MP are receptive enough. A new head coach coming into an already existing set-up,without bringing his own people in, must be a rarity these days,I would guess?
