It could be that, though the contract length suggests otherwise. I was surprised at that as well. But not being the " first pick" is entirely irrelevant. It's him and the team now. And most of us will have both of their backs.
Sadly it's becoming all too frequent and often at the drop of a hat ... ... thankfully the home and away crowds will continue to support their club, come what may ... ... despite being accused of accepting, and therefore being responsible for, mediocrity.
Wasn’t my first choice but neither was Mowbray. Failed as a “manager” at rangers but here he will be head coach and he is supposed to be a very good coach and with dodds as his number 2. Good luck to him
Correct. We go , we shout, we support, we have a beer, we twist a bit, we celebrate. That's all it is, all it can be. And there is no reason to suppose that it will be any diffent this weekend. It won't be for me!
The key words I took from that was that he didn't want to be the manager, he wanted to be the coach. I think he will do well. Time will tell.
Good lad. Nothing wrong with any of that at all. If it had been delivered in a French or Italian accent, much wisdom would be attached to it. On you go Mr Beale. Good luck.
Looking at this handy guide, I’d say he’s 100% growth mindset. He started his journey at a very low point in football, as an apprentice told he wasn’t good enough to play professionally. He responded by buying a Futsal franchise. He was inspired by the success of Stevie G or was absolutely crackers because he took the Rangers job. Of course he was. All this narrative of "the clubs failed " "clutching at straws" "doing it on the cheap" is bollox but fills a lot of peoples agenda. Could go tits up but given the clubs structure looks like a good fit to me
Thought he spoke well there and telling that he pointed out he's more comfortable as a head coach rather than a manager which he was at rangers.
Really interesting he more or less says he didn’t like being a manager and wants to just be head coach. I think the fit might be perfect
Won’t lie I feel underwhelmed with this appointment and concerned with the negativity of our fans and the fans of clubs that have seen him in action. That being said it’s irrelevant now he’s here, got my backing 100% and looking forward to seeing what he does with this squad. The positive I’m going to take from his interview is that his failures at rangers sound like they came from areas he had little experience and didn’t particularly want to be involved in. You’d expect here his going to be in charge of one thing only and that’s the coaching side, the area he’s got all his praise and credit in. 2.5 years surprises me, that sees him to the end of KLD/speakmans first 5 years which is the point they want us in the premier league, so they think he’s the man to get us there. Big risk from them so they must have confidence it will work so I’ll take confidence from that. Fingers crossed for 3 points on Saturday and the perfect start for him
