Good luck to Beale, hope it all works well. The proof will be in the pudding. Fcuking laughable, reading on some other forums, want the guy sacked before he's stepped through the door. IMHO it's as much risk as Still, who I'd never even heard of until the last couple of weeks.
The response has been embarrassingly over the top though you must admit that ? I didn’t want him cos I knew very little about him and I think most know little detail but I’m happy to trust the people in charge because I think they’ve improved us until I see it isn’t right
There's a hell of a lot of groupthink going on on socials as well mind. The more people saying its terrible etc just convinces others it is. There's a huge difference between acknowledging he's not who you'd have picked but continuing to support your football club, versus what a lot of people on socials are doing at the moment - which is actively the opposite of supporting.
welcome aboard Mr Beale... well, after reading the notes from the club it appears as if they have all had a good think about this, what they want from the coach and what they want from the current set up, seems some might not have agreed to what the club wants and shows why they moved onto Beale...actually makes me feel a lot better knowing that our new coach will not be 'starting from scratch' and should be on board with the plan, of course we will see some changes in the window and really pointless making any judgements on him until next season so let's just enjoy the rest of this one and hopefully get a win against the mags.
Gabriel Sutton who I respect greatly as somebody who knows his onions in the football league - think its a great appointment and doesn't understand the outrage.
I am also including IRL people who have been discussing it. Its so overwhelming that people are feflated by it. I think the biggest issue will be any time he interacts with fans pre and post match, his corporate waffle will really grind on most. People gave AN more slack as he said it like it was most of the time and fans could understand it. Beale has not shown he will speak like this.
Absolutely no need for it, we all have opinions and we are all entitled to both hold them and let others know what they are. We are not entitled to shout down anyone whose opinion differs from our own for the sake of it (well I suppose we can in reality but it highlights the shortcomings of the person doing the shouting more than anything else). I have mainly kept quiet on this thread because I want to see who’s brought in and be able to objectively assess how we do going forwards without my judgement of the new boss being clouded in anyway before he’s even hung his coat up on the back of his door. Hopefully he will get a few wins under his belt and then provide a huge cup shock to cement his legacy when we sack him at the end of the season
Like all of our coaches I will give them 100% support until they show me a reason not too. I just don't understand those who hold a grudge and want someone to fail without giving them a chance. If he fails, then it means Sunderland have failed, but it seems some of our supporters aren't happy unless they've got something to either aim their anger at or something to complain about.
Well Mr Beale please start by getting rid of our injury problems and get at least one striker to start scoring.
Guess we'll find out. I'm only going to judge him on his results for us rather than others, and what he says whilst representing our club. So far his written statement was good. Proof will be in the press conferences, especially after defeats. Thats when they really grind!!
Wouldnt have been my 1st choice but hope he smashes it. Going by the statements its clear he was always one of their main targets I think its laughable that people who have no idea who the club has interviewed are saying weve only appointed him because he is the cheap option. The club clearly have done their due diligence and decided he is the right person to take us forward - thats good enough for me! People slagging not having a plan in place when TM left clearly havent listened to what Speakman has said about Beale being on their radar for a while - thats what success planning is all about! We now need to get behind the club - unlike the ones ive seen on social media saying they want fans to boycott games and even wanting to protest against the club!!
Biggest thing I want from this appointment is full alignment between Speakman and Beale. No disagreements playing out in the media.
That is fair. And the vast number will also do the same. Be interesting to see how he performs and interacts with everyone linked with safc
I really need to get back to work but my final point I keep coming back to when I go round and round in my head, is Rangers hired him TWICE. You can hire anybody once if they talk your socks off in an interview. I've hired several people who have been brilliant at interview and then underwhelmed. But I've only ever hired one person twice. And no sexy interview would make me hire somebody I didn't want a second time. Rangers wanted him as Manager having already employed him previously. He must impress people he works with, despite what all the rumours of dressing room issues say. Quotes from ex pros show that.
I know more about him today than I did on Friday and am more concerned today it’s a really poor choice than I was on Friday. Just can’t see this being a good thing at all and usually am massively on the optimistic side but this is very deflating when it appeared the squad was in a position to kick on.
They did but have you seen the comments under the safc announcement. Been a long time since I have seen anything so negative,
