Tufan is the main player who remains calm under pressure. He usually scores when he gets a good chance.
I'm more of the opinion that the blokes pissed off at his team getting a pasting? I've used similar terminology if we've had a bit of a schooling in the past..
It's part of the way we play. If there's nothing on, we keep the ball -and yes that sometimes means passing backwards and sometimes all the way back to the keeper to start again. It didn't take away (for me) the overall enjoyment of our performance yesterday
why will the goalkeeper having possession of the ball mean there is "more on" than having the ball on the edge of the opponents area?
Tufan was so good yesterday, there was no way he was missing that. In truth, his first touch wasn't all that great, but you still knew where it was heading. Right into the onion bag. Nonchalant finish. Just another day at the office for our Deco. EDIT...Seen it again, his first touch was exquisite.
Took it down with his left, controlled it with his right and dinked it. 3 touches, all whilst on the move at pace. Not an easy thing to do.
Because as the ball moves, players move. Lets say for example (and this is NOT a real game reference) Christie has the ball in the opponents half, but he has his back to their goal and a defender right behind him. Then lets say he passes back to Greaves who is chased by the opponents centre forward. Greaves plays the ball back to Allsop, who sees Jones has moved into space. Jones receives the ball, turns and seeing a forward run by Delap picks him out. As I say that is not a real game reference but it is an example of our playing style which means passing back to Allsop is necessarily a negative thing. See our 3rd goal yesterday- we passed around at the back for a while before Allsop found Morton who turned and played a perfect pass to Tufan.
For want of a better analogy, it’s a bit like when your laptop stalls and you turn it off and back on again.
Sometimes recycling the possession creates a new opening. Take our second goal against Boro. We tried working it and worked it back to the GK who found the space. I really don’t get the complaints about the style of play anymore when it’s clearly working for us.
Not sure whether it has already been mentioned but clearly Siopis for them as a professional footballer didn't know the rules. He seemed to think if City players are closer to the ball for the free-kick than the 10 yds then he can also stand there. Quite bizarre.
I agree, it defies belief that a professional doesn’t understand the rule. I would have thought one of his team mates would have hauled him back. Cost him a yellow card in the end.
Well, he did in the end, I think it was Collin's told him to get back behind the line. Someone said he did it on purpose to put Twine off, but I actually think he just didn't understand the rule by his reaction.
All his touches on Saturday were on point, some of his little flicks were brilliant, a proper talent that lad, lucky to have him. On his day one of the best in the league… just my opinion
Aye @FerArk mentioned that to me this morning after golf (while we were both having a coffee!!! Mrs Tash is worried I’m badly) Amusing, and as you say he just didn’t seem to know the rules
How was the round? Was it out on the grass.... I'm struggling to find somewhere that's not way to wet ATM
Cracking camera angle from the club for Tufan’s goal You can see how important his second touch was to keep it away from the defender https://x.com/hullcity/status/1736748148482359641?s=46&t=DAxwWj15XaMBwCrrY9gKFQ
Not bad. Played Skidby Lakes. Only front 9 open (well 4th closed and 10th open) so we played it twice. Wasn’t that wet underfoot, but was quite soft so wasn’t very forgiving if you didn’t connect well. Temp tees, but proper greens which were in surprisingly good nick. Played Burstwick when wet the other week and the greens there were pretty good too. Similar at Laceby Manor. Hainsworth Park tends to drain well, but I haven’t played there this winter.
