Must say I work with a lad who’s a mag and he’s a good lad to be fair. Something daft like 200+ points on his season card follows them home and away and has does for the last 20 year. Plenty of times I’ve sat there thinking i could quite happily just belt you and I’m sure he’s the same we get into some heated discussions Get the feeling the younger mags don’t see the rivalry like the older boys do. And just to add I don’t mind taking grief off him because I know he’s a decent lad and a good fan hasn’t just crawled out of the woodwork lately - like my best mate who’s a mag, nearly 30 and never been to a derby let alone a win for them.. and will end up taking one on the chin one day because he’s insufferable now that they’re decent
Bracewell threw his hat in the ring from what I heard? I think he is the top lad at Spuds Academy atm.
again, none of us know the circumstances that lead to TM being sacked, therefore i cannot make judgement on whether the club should have kept him at the helm...he seemed to be brought in as a 'safe bet' and few would have placed him at the top of the list but he won us over while he was here and i guess the majority of us will wish him all the best. i know nothing about beale either, or any of the others the club were apparently linked with and i have absolutely no idea if they will be good for the club or not but i am happy to give, whoever it finally is, the chance to prove himself or not, whatever the case may be...as has been said many times, nobody knows if any manager/coach will be good for any team until they try. one thing is for certain, we all figured moyes would be excellent for the club and restore some pride but we all know how that ended and go further back lawrie 'mackem-enemy' who was then a big name manager...many times it simply does not work and KLD and his men have made great strides in a short time and they have earned respect and time but it will be a while before we dream of 'premier glory', if it ever happens, that is.
One of my sons was mascot,at Coventry, and we were invited into the Sunderland dressing room. Bracewell was having a series of pain killing injections, with a foot long needle, pumped into his battered legs ... ... my son looked like he would throw up but bravely didn't
Especially when if most fans were asked what they wanted , they would probably asked for a young up and coming coach
Young up and coming coach but a squad full of overpaid journeymen is what our fans want for some bizarre reason. Give me a high level coach with a group of talented youngsters over absolutely anything.
Good player was Brace imo, my era probably didn't see the best of him at safc. Probably at his best at Everton?
I think Mowbray was brought in as a safe pair of hands but clashed too much with upper management and I can see why we let him go. I'll always have time for the bloke though, he did some fantastic work and I like him as a person. I don't think anyone on here really knows about Beale. People looking for negatives will focus on his time at Rangers but it looks like he did alright to me and if that's his career at rock bottom I've seen worse. Nobody is in a position they can categorically state that he's ****e and it's not going to work.
Totally agree with you re Beale he could end up taking us to the next level or he could be the hopeless case rangers fans would want us to believe. Time will tell As for TM I honestly think he ran out of ideas his coaching and man managements of the young kids was fabulous but tactically I think he hit a brick wall Very similar comments from when he was at Blackburn loved him but couldn’t take the team any further
After having a day or two to look more into Beale, I can see why he is at least in the frame. He seems to have a lot of respect in the game. Hopefully lessons learned from the cauldron of Glasgow in terms of how to deal with expectations from media and supporters. It is this side of the role which would be a concern if looking at an inexperienced coach coming from another country.
Ok, I can accept that. But does that mean that every chief coach we get will be sacked as soon as he hits a sticky patch?
If KS couldn’t handle TM imagine if we had gone the Roy Keane route who was supposed to be in the frame at the time of TM’s appointment….jeez maybe that’s why it went no further. Hope if it’s Beale KS handles him better.
Yeah, but I just spoke to Stevie G and apparently his name is Michael Beele but he sometimes goes by Mick. Remember... you heard it here first (last).
Whoever is announced, will they get the time to build? I've read a fair few comments across social media about the average time a coach / manager is in the job and a high percentage of people accept its 18 months and under. Has football moved on that much that every other season sees a change? No riding out blips in form just a change
The building of the team is done by the recruitment team. The HC will bring his coaching ideas which will take a pre season.
Yes I get that, but will a coach ever be given time to really something or is the way now more short term appointments as the back room doesn't change?
Something to lighten the mood. Stolen from Syd at Sundermad Kim Hellberg red and white army, no Julien Sablé, red and white army Sorry its Will Stills red and white army Hold on Michael Beals red and white army But now it's Jimmy Thelin s red and white army Could it be Some feckers red and white army
