You're right I did, Northolt, but after he came back at me with a reasoned argument about why he actually approved of Mackie (lucky old Mackie) I decided he probably was a Rangers fan that just had extreme views. I dare say he enjoyed putting the cat among the pigeons though, which gets into WUM territory. I think he was a borderline case, and as I say, I'm happy to go with your judgement since you have the overview
Freedom of speech is onr thing, forcing your views on others is another. It is obvious 77 wasn't interested in debating actual facts or events,he was only posting to incite, and to get under people's skin and provoke them into a reaction. He did this successfully because on the whole we think better of our players, manager and fans than he does, and we responded to his jibes in anger and dismay. While i am normally one not to resort to fractious vitriol,i had a go at him the other day about what he posted about Warnock,he got what he wanted,i bit and he won because i had let him get to me.Whether he is Hammersmith blue or a sad deluded Rangers fan i rather pity his negativity about everything to do with our club,he was warned about his postings yet continued today with a new post aimed at us and other Rangers fans about how sad and useless we are.I'm sorry but i feel Northolt had no choice but to ban him,it's not about freedom of speech,it's about abusing the priviledge.I for one won't miss him!
Well done North, I agree with freedom of speech but he got what he deserved. I do have one question, is it possible for him to rejoin under a different name?
I was actually just ignoring 77, but why not get rid of him? Northolt simply banned him from a 'fans' forum as he was clearly not a 'fan'. Yes, maybe QPR were his team, and maybe he wasn't a Chelsea fan on here just to wind people up. But if he is a Ranger, he wasn't being much of a 'fan' was he? So what's the point of him being here? You may have a negative view on Barton or Taarabt, fine, but this guy had a negative view on everything QPR. Let's not get carried away with Northolt's decision. It really isn't that political, it was a simple decision.
Nothing personal Northy and being called liberal has to be a first for me!! I can see both sides of the argument (like all good liberals!), but I just wonder where you draw the line. All WUMs don't get banned do they? Anyway, I certainly won't miss him (although I was starting to ignore him, hence I didn't see his attack on QPR fans - is it still viewable - what was the thread called?)
I drew the line today, at that article(Syds got rid of it) cos he'd been warned and given the benefit of the doubt long enough. Check his posts every single one is negative and provocative. My last word on it, pissed of with typing! http://www.not606.com/search.php?searchid=785802
As did I. That's the great thing about being here instead of the old 606. In the old days we had to put up with jokers like that. Not any more. Well done, Northolt. Should have done it earlier
Actually, I was. When NW came up with stupid quotes, likes us losing 3-2 to "probably" the best team in the world, I came on here and said NW is talking rubbish. Which was a FACT. I also came up with FACTS about Adel, which of course, most people were not interested in. And here's another FACT - everyone who does not like my "negativity" can "ignore" me. But that's not what you want. You want to "ban" me instead, because you're fascists. It's ok though, you guys can keep banning and insulting me, and I'll keep coming here and posting what I feel like saying when I want to - which is usually after the game. No one has ever managed me from voicing my opinion, and they won't in the future. Till next weekend.
I was biting a lot to be fair. He wasn't a fan. He could have just picked up on Mackie being a great guy from any thread and used that to attempt to prolong his spell on the board. He never offered any insight into a player or system. No views on the running of the club except for universal damnation. He was so out of his depth he seemed like a child speaking to economists about Greece's financial crisis. People don't have to be the most eloquent to post here but you can always tell fans by their underlying passion, well meaning, love for the club (and I in turn love that as much as any well constructed post). I can deal with pessimism, people taking dislikes to particular players or aspects of the club and also people playing devil's advocate. He did none of these and merely condemned everything (except Chelsea). I can say with complete certainty that he was not a fan. Well done Northolt - some see it as an oppression but it's not. This merely allows us to debate in an educated or passionate way without some jumped up moron sticking needless poison in the middle thus detracting from our normal, entertaining and informative discussion. Once again, well done Northy and good riddence 77.
