Young is a very good keeper. Seen him a few times for the 21s. Does most things very well for such a young age.
Weakest link seems to be the big striker, has a bit of pace and power but lacking a first touch and hasn't shown much nous.
I see the seats that Donald put in are going pink whereas the ones Short did (East stand, round the badge) are still red. Any chance Donald went for the cheap option?
The way Watson was fouled and got that pen was frighteningly like Clarke the way he stepped inside the full back and got clipped. Great win, hope they continue to let us see more of these young lads in action.
Our number 5 wasn't bad either, really good crop of youngsters here, some flowing passages of play in first half went off the boil after the break, but came back strongly, the substitutes should have been introduced a bit sooner but all in all a very impressive team performance.
Be weird if we sold Clarke and immediately replaced him with someone who played and looked exactly like him.
Thought the No4 (Jones?) was decent as well, particularly 2nd half when he was always available to take the ball in tight situations and find a player in space.
Just to bring a bit of positivity to the board this morning. I’ve just been watching highlights of our under 18s match and Tommy Watson looks like a star in the making. He looks like Jack Clarke and even runs like him. A natural Clarke replacement for when the inevitable happens?
Agreed. He's a very good player with a bright future ahead of him. I wonder if he does some training with Jack?
