They have. They have done really well so far. And even if this goes belly up they'll still have my support. Mistakes happen. We're a very similar club to rangers. You've got to build a connection to the area and the fans which is quite unique. A plus is that if it goes tits up, we ain't going down, so low risk considering where we usually are

Exactly, hopefully hes learned from his experience at Rangers and is a better manager because of it

Its still not been annouced yet so lets just see what happens

Seen people saying theyll turn against the board n Beale, thatll be the worse thing to do - got to keep supporting the club, one club!!

I'd never turn against this board. But beale could be on his way out before we play the mags if he doesn't start well. I just really don't want to lose the positivity we have. It's been a very rare 2 years as a sunderland fan. It's all going in the right direction and this feels wrong. See what happens tomorrow. Sure the press team are letting everyone know that the fans appear quite united in their assessment

As pissed and pissed off as I am they could hire thatcher and I’ll still turn up when I can, just want us to not be a circus thought we were above appointments like this now, repeating myself here but I’m so desperate to be wrong about this

I would have loved it to have been Will Still. I've been following his career for a little while. It would have been a massive coup for the club- he's probably the hottest coaching property in Europe right now and people don't seem to realise that Stade de Reims is a big job, club has massive status in France due to their history.

I would have loved it to be Thelin. He's done a great job with Elfsborg but is relatively unknown and the idea of plucking a gem from relative obscurity is really exciting to me.

Michael Beale doesn't excite me in the same way. But, his reputation as a coach is excellent. He's worked at a variety of big clubs and has experience of working in different countries. Just because things didn't work out for him at Rangers doesn't mean he can't do the job. In this country, if someone is sacked as a football manager (/head coach), everyone assumes they must be useless and their reputation is forever tainted. Go to Italy, for example, and that attitude doesn't exist. He's not that glamorous an appointment but glamour isn't the main criteria.

Trying to remain balanced and say they got almost every decision spot on since they arrived. However to take a punt on Beale, seems unimaginably risky after getting rid of a very liked coach in Mowbray. I really hope this work's out, but I'm fearing the worst for the remainder of our season if I'm honest.

Kind of hoping he's only appointed till end of season then Will Still takes over. But I doubt that will happen.

Not a reasoned answer to anything I have said, just don’t listen to those of a different opinion, which to be fair is your way. What is the real life thing about, a threat?

Sunderland twitter seems to think our club are having the darkest day of its history, because some of our fans have to sit in different seats for a match, and because those fans aren’t allowed to hold up pieces of cards criticising the Saudis.

Feel like we’ve lost a lot of perspective.

If our supporters took a banner in that’s fair enough but the club can’t as professionals advocate that type of slogan and allow an organised display. Even if they agree with it.

Nah mate. Let's get it right.

Sunderland fans , who have season tickets , some corporate are being told to move seats to accommodate Newcastle fans. Some are not even guaranteed a ticket and been bumped to phase 2 of the release. Unacceptable.

    That's simply not good enough.

They are guaranteed a seat. It says so.

People are rightfully annoyed. It’s the level of annoyance which is out of sync.
