When all is said and done it's purely a results business. If (99%chance at this point) it's Beale he'll live or die by our performances and results, like all before him have! If you're bothered enough to join a Sunderland forum I think its reasonable to assume everyone within said forum, barring a very miniscule minority, wants the team and therefore the manager to do well. Personally, I can't blame anyone for not expecting or being disappointed by this type of appointment. After making the proactive decision to get rid of TM at this stage of the season, this feels like a reactionary appointment. That said, as many others have also said...they've got enough credit in the bank to do whatever they want and be judged by the results. Let's see how it plays out.
Athletic, Sky, Romano, Nixon and local press all reporting it as done. So it might be several pissing their pants
OK fair enough. It's likely that this is deemed the more sensible/safe way to do it. Wherever the mags sit, someone is going to be upset
ok ok ok.. ffs i make one basic statement and you are the 2nd one to pull me up. surely, in the principle of 'health and safety of all attending a game' and knowing the hatred some fans hold for each other, surely just giving them the upper seats would have made far more sense than 'sprinkling' some in among the home fans and some fans having to change seats to suit...and for those about to shout next, i was there when we all stood side by side in the roker end, never sure who was stood next to you until the fists started to fly.
hmm. Wonder why not announced then. Wonder if it was due to be announced this afternoon but the response means they’ll wait for people to get used to the idea overnight before announcing in morning
He was frankey / cream soda otr plus probably several others, dunno who he is atm, several candidates all as unreasonable and argumentative as each other.
I’m telling ya, if you thought LJs pressers were full of phoneyisms, just wait until you listen to Beale. He spouts record levels of bull s*it, in a horrendous cockney accent. He’ll be the biggest Lead Balloon the club has ever appointed. Chins up lads, it’ll end in tears. Bart
I'm a very very positive poster, but Jesus, I honestly don't get this one. He doesn't come across well at all. Doesn't inspire at all. It's certainly bold leadership but you can't moved from a manager the fans relate to to a proper cockney who struggles to sting a sentence together. I really don't know what to think as I love what we've done in the last 2 years. This feels very wrong
I get that mate and know you are usually pretty positive What i would say is you can only judge him on how he does with us - if he is confirmed then lets see how he performs with us Im deflated as well as not a Beale fan however we can only judge him on how he does with us, KS and KLD have nailed the appointments so far
I guess we'll have to wait for it to be announced and see what's said then. There's usually some decent explanation from the club.
