I live in Scotland and nobody i know, and i mean nobody, thinks he did a good job at Rangers. That said, his win record is 70% (yes i know its a poor league) and lost only 8/43. The biggest problem he had up here was the recruitment in the summer was a shambles and his playing style was not clear. Strange appt but he has a heck of a good squad already here with us (apart from up top) We will see how good an actual coach he is
This has angered me, tbh. How on Earth does it take 2 weeks to come to Michael Beale, and how does he fit in with what we’re trying to do? Dug a massive hole for themselves IMO, as this will take an awful lot to get the fans on side.
Like I said mate, there was lots of good write ups about TM and it was good to read about his attacking style of play, how he encouraged young players. Where as with Beale its mostly he was Gerrards assistant
I am looking at everything he's done apart from Rangers...that job can, and has been, a poison chalice for many managers. I'll give the guy a fair crack....results are all that matters, he starts with a clean slate
Was disappointed when the rumour surfaced a few days ago. By all accounts he is a brilliant coach, but his time at Rangers didn't go to plan. His man management and tactical nous were questioned. Really not sure what to make of this appointment, if it comes to pass. I still believe in the long term plan that we are on, it just seems like a missed opportunity here. Time will tell, how it will pan out.
Only positive I can find even though it's a negative against Beale himself is that his biggest issue was recruitment over the summer which he basically was in charge of, that won't be the case here.
They only spent £15m in total and had a net spend of £2m against their player sales.. lost Sakala, Kamara, Kent, Morelos amongst others. He managed 90 odd points with a 70% win ratio which would’ve been enough to win the SPL a fair few times over the last decade. **** knows what Rangers fans think of their previous managers if he’s a disaster mind. Obviously trophies are what matters but you wouldn’t say Arteta is sh*te because he couldn’t topple Man City and he’s had about 5 years worth of trying now. Not a flattering appointment but don’t see him being worse than Mowbray and young enough to implement new ideas hopefully.
So Beale maybe the new coach. It's not been announced officially, but people are having a hissy fit already. Get a grip!! Even if it is true and he is our new coach, he will have my 100% support until he proves to me I shouldn't give it to him. Everyone starts with a clean page as manager in my book. Lets see first of all if he's appointed and second lets see how he performs.
The lad I know at the club has just sent me three crying emojis. Response - get to ****. How can all the data in the world on managers from every Country and all roads lead to Beal. (Unemployed, cheap and will do as he is told) This is a Speakman appointment.
Poor, very poor. Seriously starting to wonder about the ownership group tbh. Know I’ll get pelters for this.
I’m reserving judgment. The reaction is all very Mowbray like. Beale is coming into a club which already has a football philosophy and this might actually be better for him than rangers
Said I would trust the board but bloody hell they make it difficult sometimes. Would rather we kept Mowbray or Dodds, hope to Christ I’m proved completely wrong.
Not sure why he has not learned. The players hated LJ and the rift was massive as it was never his fault. Needs to be a balance with corporate waffle speak and getting on with players.
I hugely concerned about comments from QPR and Rangers fans about the style of play more than anything. Boring, safety first ****e.
I'm not attached to any of the names we've been linked with because I know next to nothing about them, but it's certainly deflating to apparently go for the one guy that people whose opinions I value were adamant it should be anyone but him. Have to see if it actually is Beale or if someone's jumping the gun.
