No matter how you phrase it, "taking one for the team" is still cheating and you would be apoplectic if it was done to one of our own.

Obviously, went right over my head, a joke disguised as arrogance.

Such a shame he made that mistake against Watford as I actually think he has been brilliant in the past few games.

I can forgive him that error TBH. He's been outstanding for quite a while now.

It was obviously a joke, a bit like “it’s coming home” for England

Yeah, and he is only 21 so it isn't a surprise that he makes the odd error. He has been good with the ball for a while now, but the past month or so he has been winning us points with his shot stopping. Hope he continues to improve and the errors dry up.

I think his distribution has improved as well IMO. It was always good, but he's added long passes to his locker. And most of them are right on the money.

It'll be well done not half baked, auguring well for a comprehensive victory when Saturday comes.

Having supported Saints for over 70 years I know better, then again I did go to Wembley in '76 with more hope than expectation...

Playing behind a settled CB pairing helps with nerves.

A lot of fans have forgotten just how poor and shambolic we were last season, we were miles behind Leicester and Leeds and won only 6 games and scored a pitiful 36 goals all season.
I don't believe that it was ever going to be an instant fix this season but progress is definitely being made since the disaster that was "experimental" September.
We haven't failed to score in the last 14 matches and the poor goals conceded are decreasing and we are getting glimpses of how it could be in the home wins against Leeds, Brum and Cardiff. The away performances haven't been quite as good but we are not losing any so that's positive at least.
The play-offs will be fine by me and hopefully by that time we will be more consistently good, at least there will be a home leg in the semis!.

    ^^^This

We were so so so so **** last year. I stopped bothering to go and I am a season ticket holder.

This year I actually look forward to football again.

This is a fair point. Martin has done well to make us more solid. He just needs some signings to make us more potent

I went to Wembley with expectation, in 1976.
Despite being in the second tier I had a feeling in my water that we were going to go all the way and booked time off from work for the semi and the final before we had even played the 3rd round.
Never had the same feeling or conviction since.
