they’d only be asked their opinion on Dodds. Speakman isn’t then going to just make a decision based on what they’ve said.
That’s a decision they made in the summer by keeping him on though. Sacking Mowbray then still not getting promoted whilst having to totally reshuffle the backroom staff because you’ve given your Head of YD the managers job half way through a season seems crackers to me it leaves even more work to be done next summer. I’m still hopeful we’ll get a manager in like I don’t think we have the luxury of just “surviving” for a season like other clubs in this division can. There’s expectation here and if Dodds was given the job then went on a shocking run what do the club do? Could really sour the relationship and he’s not someone I’d want to lose from the club personally he’s doing a great job with the players. If I’m a manager I want the best person for each job doing their own job not everyone doing each others job for the sake of one bloke doing a job he’s good at. Square pegs and all that.
Hopefully not marrow, one thing I can remember though is a post match interview with Sbragia on sky or BBC players were in the background shouting give him the job !
Hugely different set-up now. I don’t think it should be Dodds but I really don’t think the situations are comparable.
Oh, I thought he'd said he was over for talks without any mention of reports in England. Aye, from the horses mouth though since. Said he was flattered to have been considered/spoken to but that the club (SAFC) had two preferred candidates they wanted to pursue. Edit: here you go: https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...d-kim-hellberg-opens-will-still-first-choice/
Could it not be that Dodds was always one of the names on their shortlist along with Still and Hellberg?
I don't think we would be doing that though. If it's Dodds it will be because he's the best option for our club out of the candidates available. Not necessarily the best coach or the biggest name but the appointment will be made based on the best fit for the club.
Why would they give opinions? Why would they want to? Why would it be relevant before said coach is appointed?
We'll see soon then! If it's Dodds it's Dodds, they must think he's enough. But. There are two sets of people who should NEVER choose a manager IMO; players and supporters. And I doubt either will, (so to speak!)
Don't bother mate, unless you're in agreement with those on here who will polish every turd, your contributions will he disregarded or branded negative. You may even get told you're not a supporter. Don't waste your energy mate.
Potentially, or they don’t want to pay the compensation required for a good manager when there’s a chance they could get someone for nothing in the summer.
Can't see there having been anything in the Burstow thing. Dodds, who is for obvious reasons more biddable than TM, has played two games without any of the forwards bought.
