Just in case this is interesting to anyone - thoughts from a new F1 convert. Thought I'd share it in the context of the discussions about the 'value' of Liberty's current focus on the US market. A few notes... In case you're not aware of this guy, he's definitely not representative of the average 'man in the street' that Liberty would be targeting (he owns a hugely popular YouTube channel focusing on digital technologies, and more recent channels e.g. on cars and car technologies). He's clearly in his F1 learning curve, so he understandably gets some things wrong He clearly loves the tech side of F1, and his enthusiasm for the constructor's championship was interesting. It looks like he was at the Las Vegas GP as a guest of Bit defender (one of Ferrari's sponsors). Nevertheless, it does seem like he was genuinely impressed, rather than just a celebrity in the paddock. My thoughts... It's interesting hearing the perspective of someone recently hooked, in Liberty's priority target market. Does it indicate anything for the future (exciting or disheartening)? While I like his enthusiasm for F1. I cringe that he's so much more enamoured with street circuits than the rich historic tracks, but I guess that also tells us something about what appeals to newer fans, regardless of whether we see it as a good thing. If Liberty sees the video, maybe it will bring the Wakefield Grand Prix one step closer, especially as it's so close to glamorous places like Cas Vegas and Ponte Carlo. (Castleford and Pontefract, for those of you who don't know the area. )
I would assume all he is interested in as a mega rich person or basically being given all access etc is that it's close to the party. it's noisy and you can get close the the tracks dn see things etc. rich people have zero interest in sitting ina rainy grandstand for hours on end. I'd say he hardly saw the race at Vegas but has a party.
Something like, Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber:. That`s a bit of a mouthfull. Get your laughing tackle round that crofty.
I noticed that the RB20 failed it`s crash test recently with the nose and front wing not standing head on impact. But it is probably no problem for Newey and co.though, as they will be looking to get some of that extra weight off and just keep redesigning the front making it strong more until they get a pass.
Hopefully that's a costly wind-tunnel time and money problem that doesn't get resolved too soon and forces a design compromise. Anything to tighten that field.
Are we going to have a new thread for the Stake F1 racing team? I would like to be able to do it myself, but I have no idea. It has now been confirmed that betting brand Stake is now Sauber’s exclusive title partner for 2024 and 2025, which will see the gambling firm take over the naming rights of the Hinwil-based team for the next two seasons.
So I'm an attempt to break the post festivities blues, it's only... 48 days until Winter testing. 66 days until the Indycar season opener.
t’s a film about racing, but not narrowly focused on scenes of cars speeding around a track at hair-raising speeds, and not much Fomula 1, there’s plenty of sports cars, but an equal amount of time is taken about Enzo`s love life.Penelope Cruz as his wife was the star I think.Graphic scenes of crashes, sex scenes and bad language was the reason it`s rated R.
Thanks . I was aware it’s not so much about F1 , more sports cars / Ferraris financial troubles etc .
A small project I started over Christmas. This thing is huge and was fun to put together. Lego therapy is pretty great. please log in to view this image
FIA lose their engineer https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/67906883 Going to a team, though not decided. Auction for the loop-hole?
Eddie Irvine believes Hamilton’s time at the top of Formula 1 has come to a close. He says maybe the odd win ,but no more WDC`s. In your dreams Irvine just watch Lewis go this new season. I simply cannot believe that Mercedes will build another dud car,I really can`t and all Hamilton needs is the car to be to his style of driving and Verstappen is in for a tough 2024,because Lewis has still got what it takes to win one more championship.
His time may well be done, but I take anything Irvine and Villeneuve say with a pinch of salt. Would be good to see him win it next year just to put two fingers up to Irvine. Either way, at least he had a time.
