Popped this here as it’s about city kids, my niece’s son daylam played against hull city under 8s last night, both sets of coaches remarked he was the best player on the pitch. They’ve now asked him to play for city under 8s in a match against Grimsby on Saturday. He is such a shy little thing but very talented, I really hope he does well on Saturday and hopefully join city, not just for the fact I can then go to his city matches but also for his self confidence. He normally plays for cottingham with his school pals so to play in a team of strangers will be quite daunting. He is one of those kids that is good at every sport, runs cross country, track and field, not bad at cricket also. Loves to train which is half of the battle in your progress and a lovely lad so will get on with the new lads. I’m so proud of him, if I tell you who he reminds me of you’ll all piss your pants so I won’t put that and see how it goes. I may revisit that at a later date.
Happy as Larry today, city with a great win and hopefully some great news in a few days. **** me it’s freezing today, roll on the 18th of December.

City U21 v Swansea U21 at the MKM - We were 1-0 down after 3 mins and 2-0 down after 13 mins, not a great start.

Clearly getting rid of a bunch of local lads and replacing them with a load of wessie lads has had a fantastic effect. Obviously that isn't a sole reason for the issues present, but it certainly it what most will look at.

Our academy has been properly ****ed up since Sellars came in.

Yes and not a great middle or end either. Lost 1-6. Can't remember seeing such a one-sided match at any level. Swansea U21s could easily have hit double figures but, with the match won, they just took their foot off the gas a bit and pinged the ball about between themselves to keep possession. Credit to City keeper Foster who pulled off a number of fine saves and kept their total to a mere 6 goals. Not sure what has happened to our U21s of late. Maybe Swansea are a top U21 side in our league but we sure looked very, very poor by comparison.

I seem to remember some comments of discontent a few months ago regarding Sellars and his management style etc?

Finished 1-1. Sellars-Fleming in the 90th minute, apparently a peach of a cross from Bora Aydinlik too.
