Wouldn't be against this if the guy we want isn't available. There isn't a great deal wrong with team and the players seem to like him. No point in making sweeping changes at this stage of season
I’m not actually 100% against this if performances continue over the next couple of weeks, but like @Southern A said (I think) I’d be worried we’d then lose him as a coach as he’d not want to drop back in the chain.
Yeh this is the concern. He's too valuable as a coach. But if Dodds is in charge for Leeds and Bristol City and wins them both, and our first choices are saying they won't move during the season, I absolutely would not be against it if that's what the club decided to do. It's all a bit moot anyway because a heavy defeat tomorrow night renders that idea complete undesirable.
this appointment is just going to arrive completely out of the blue when nobody expects it, they are going to hire the spanish inquisition... ...because
He still never played a striker so I don’t think he’s the man to get the best out of the squad, I’ve mentioned before he maybe didn’t have time to implement a change of tactics so let’s see how he gets on Tuesday.
If we get a good performance tomorrow night, the apparent urgency to appoint a new coach will diminish, and some will see Doddsy as a possible longer term appointment than was initially thought. Reminds me a little bit of the Malcolm Crosby scenario.
Rubberface on RTG is saying if Dodds gets a good result tomorrow he's getting the job until the end of the season
Appointing Dodds would show that, in fact, they don't have a plan and that their all talk. It would be purely reactive based on two games and totally illogical. It won't happen in my view. Remember the first 3 games under Sbragia? Then what happened. Huge data base of managers that are continually monitored apparently. If Mike Dodds is best fit then my god.
I could see Dodds getting it until the end of the season in order to facilitate bringing somebody in who is already employed but I can't see what tomorrow night's result would have to do with it. I would have thought that they are either keen on the idea or they are not.
If they think dodds is the man then why are they waiting? Why haven't they already appointed him? Clearly they don't think he is.
Exactly. Leeds could go down to 9 men and we get 2 penalties and win 2-0. Does that mean dodds gets the job?
