We'll have to be on it for the Utd game - it's one of the few games where they might actually make an effort.
The crowd will set the tone. Of that I am 100% certain. Klopp looked over v Fulham and they responded and lifted them. If there's one game that anfield will drive its this one.
It was related to us when the term #luckedin was created on here; injuries/suspensions forced the manager to make the changes the fans knew were needed
As I recall I got pelters for daring to suggest that rodgers lucked into that 41212 formation with sterling as a quasi 10 behind suarez and sturridge and repeated the accusation when he went 343 with markovic at left wing back. Good players make managers look good. Its that simple. Theres little enough to split a lot of managers in terms of tactics and application. Some are more negative than others but really better players make teams better. Klopp was getting absolute dogs abuse about our defence until alisson and vvd arrive. I heard the dreaded "defensive coach" bullshit on this very board regarding klopp. As i recall the press even asked him and he said he could write a book on it. Man utd need better players. The End.
chelsea have a mountain of decent players. While I do not disagree that the key is to have good players, it be the best, it has to be aligned with having a good (I mean a top top) coach. Utd have neither atm.
They have a mountain of inexperienced players who might be ok in 1s or 2s but they have been utterly crazy in thier policies. Exmaples: Badiashile and Diaisi at CB. Badishile has had 2 injures so far right and the sum of **** all time in the prem, a decent player maybe but not ready. Diaisi Is a child at this level and thrown in. the two together is a disaster zone. James went off again (how many times) and they have nothing to bring on. Gusto is also inexperienced but wasn't available. Look at the stupidity of insisting fernandez is not a 6 and playing gallagher at 6 with caicedo. thier best player is cole palmer and that says it all. Jackson looks half decent but isn't ready for the prem and the weight of expectations full time. By contrast Man utd have experience and thats maybe why they are 6th and not 12th like chelsea Utd are woefully inept but if you give tin hat the players he wants then he stops making bad decisions like luke shaw at cb when he has varane on the bench. Thats not making tin hat out to be a good coach but he woudl do better. Utd play bayern midweek now., they have to give it a go at home or go out totally. then thy have 3 in a row that I can see them losing. the pain will hopefully keep piling on them. I am seeing a club in a holding pattern who have made bad signings with the money available. My point is that tin hat would be doing better if the signings were better. If I had a shopping list of things to do for that club (aside from close it down) i would a) replace the technical director level staff and MD/CEO and replace with clear delineations. CEO go work on commercials. Technical director go work on the staffing from top to bottom of the club's footballing side to improve standards. b) set about replacing just about every player in the squad aside from some younger ones. there's no leaders in there, there's no standards being set and none of them from martial through fernandes, casemiro, maguire onana etc are actually up to it. thats a 3-4 year job! why? their wages are obscene and nobody will pay them bar saudis. c) Get the crowd on side. Utd are broken because of the fans and glazier issues. The fans are also acting up and really hard to please due to instant gratification and past success. Ratcliffe has no chance as long as the glaziers own any part of that club. the fans are only a hot second away from protest and booing team to get at them. d) Does that require tin hat to be gone? Probabaly? Will it make a difference? Priobably not but i'd have zero faith in him after seeing the type sof players he's insisted on getting out of ajax contacts. Anthony, onana, martinez. then add in how he's dealt with getting shut of players. its the pits.
I don't recall anyone questioning "lucked in", I think you imagine things to create your own arguments
nah, I got absolutely savaged here for daring to criticise saint brendan. I said enjoy it while it lasts in January 2014 and got attacked. i did enjoy it. 2014/15 was entirely as expect but again I got savaged for saying it was as such lucked in was exactly what I said and the hashtag was people like astro having a go at me.
