I'd put more of the blame on Ballard for their goal to be fair. He had the advantage of the player and the ball in front of him and was the closest defender

As to Roberts falling over, he lost the ball and if anything it was him that threw himself into their player

A minor gripe for me yesterday is a few of our lads pulled out of tackles. Soft c*nts <laugh>. In the middle of the pitch yesterday there were about 4 or 5 balls that were ours and we shied off allowing them to get it.

Well he should have been sent off early on and lost his man for the goal. He did a lot of good work as well though as did O'Nien.

I'm not trying to pick on Ballard but when O'Nien commits these indiscretions they get logged and referenced interminably so let's have a little balance.

Does he though, did he ever have him.

I'd have to check again but I thought Pattson was more out of position. I'm not sure where Ballard could've been to stop the header.

My gripe (as always) is people walking out on 86 mins when the game is in the balance. Honestly don't know how people do it - I was gripped with fear, unable to move. Weird

TBF watching it back. Both Ballard and 09 could have done better.

At the end though 09 as lucky. Was in front of me, I thought it was very very close to being a pen, not sure if it was the build up too but he got ripped a new one on the half way line too.

I think Patterson is ok, the cross is whipped in too quickly for him to do anything. Ballard is alongside Asante before the cross comes in but doesn't go with him when he moves forward.

Not a major howler for anyone, it was a good goal and it all happened very fast but one thing's for sure, it's not accurate to blame O'Nien for it.

Disagree with your first point but agree with the second. On the goal, O’Nien was around the near post area like one defender should be to cut out the low ball in. The non-penalty was a bit lucky as it could have been given. The West Brom player had the beating of him for pace and skill.

    Absolutely bizarre isn't it ...

... people leaving the ground earlier than they'd normally be going in!

I'm so jealous of these people who obviously have something at home so wonderful they can't bear to get back to fifteen minutes later.

O9 has to be aware of the run behind him but ballard has to do more to stop the striker getting across him.

Both played really well imo and as you said the errors weren't howlers just slight errors in positioning

Not all goals are preventable errors.

You could say exactly the same about our first goal ...

... although the second was a huge hilarious blunder <laugh>

That was a well deserved 3 points. Credit to the players for not making TM departing an excuse to not put a shift in.
Clearly they are an honest bunch of lads who want to play football and improve. We’ve had a lot lot worse over the years.

I get what you are saying especially on a Saturday but some people genuinely do need to get away early, I sometimes need to as I go with my old man who gets the bus home after.

Midweek games in the east stand are especially affected due to it being the worst stand to get out from and a massive lack of public transport.

Stayed to the end yesterday though obviously!

I suppose it comes from always having lived far away ...

... Getting home at 11.30 on Saturday night is much the same as 11.45 <laugh>

Maybe I was so engrossed in the game but didnt notice that many leave on the 80th minute as is the norm. It was however a lot easier getting out of the West stand yesterday after the full time whistle so let them leave <laugh>.

I always believe if the game is competitive then it's till the bitter end. For me, when it's not, like Boro at home, I'll leave to have a pint earlier.

Similar to me if the games a draw or 1 goal in it im there till the end if we are getting humped like the boro game I'll leave when I can't take it anymore. I must say I like the way they now show the time through injury time now allows me to leave my seat 30 seconds from the end and start walking down the steps I usually get to the access when the whistle blows and straight out on my mile walk back to the car. Midweek can be different if there's more than 1 goal in it I generally leave bang on the 90 minute I've usually got work at 7 the next morning so at that point every minute of sleep is critical to me as I still have a 45/60 min drive home.

Yeah good shout that. The midweek 22.00 finish times are a bit heavy if you have a drive home then early graft

During the Southampton game, there were fans in my row who never saw a single goal. Came in 10 mins after k.o. went for a pint 5 minutes before h.t. came back late and went before the end of the game. Unbelievable, takes some doing that
